This guide will go through the In Vino Veritas quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Henry might not be a wine expert, but he can always pretend.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is full of unique side quests to do. From hunting down Werewolves and exorcising demons to guiding a ram back to its owner, the game has something for everyone. However, In Vino Veritas is a particularly interesting mission, and we are sure that many wine connoisseur gamers will appreciate it. In the quest, players will have to help a merchant named Casper Rudolf with his struggling wine business.
Now, we all know that Henry is not a wine expert, but you are going to help him with pretending to be one. To be more precise, you will have to pretend to be one European wine expert, and then eventually you will have to break into a vineyard to uncover secret wine recipes so Casper can improve his own. So without further delay, let’s go through the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 ‘In Vino Veritas quest.
How To Complete In Vino Veritas Side Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
So let’s start at the beginning. To begin the quest, first, you will need to find Casper Rudolf in Kuttenberg. He will be on the north of the fountain in the town. Speak to him, and he will tell you about his struggles with his wine business. He will then ask you to find a secret ingredient that will improve his wine. To progress in the side quest, you will have to say yes.
Get the Book From Adleta (Optional)
Casper will tell you that he knows how you can find this secret ingredient, and he has contact with an innkeeper who can help you. All you have to do is act as a wine expert and speak to the Innkeeper. But Henry is no wine connoisseur, so we will need to study for the upcoming meeting. You can get a book on wine, which Casper’s former lover Adleta borrowed to make things easier for you. However, this is not an absolute necessity, and you can easily skip it.
To get this book, first you will need to go to the Kuttenberg Gardens. When you try to enter the gardens, Adleta’s brother, Hugo will stop you. Hugo is a fellow blacksmith, so you can potentially convince him to let you pass. If you fail the skill check, you can go and climb the guard tower and then proceed to walk along the wall until you reach the backside of the gardens. Adleta won’t give you the book at first, but if you tell her your entire plan for helping Casper, then she will hand the book over.
Pass the Wine-Tasting
Of course, the book won’t make Henry a wine expert instantly. You will have to manually read and understand the contents in it. We understand that it can be quite boring to read a book in a video game. But do not worry, it is not a long book by any means. When you are done reading, go and meet the innkeeper. But please remember that you are a wine expert, so you cannot look like a soldier with blood all over you. So dress accordingly.
Once you have picked the appropriate attire, you will be able to find Havel the innkeeper in the Emperor Charles Tavern. Now, you will have to attend a wine-tasting session, which will be a test of your knowledge with a bunch of skill checks. The two most important questions will be where you are from, and then he will ask you some follow-up questions. To get through this conversation easily, follow the dialogues given below.

Go to the Vineyard
Now return to Casper and report to him your findings about the vineyard. You can give him the book back if you want, but it is completely optional. Additionally, if you have already been to the vineyard and have found the secret, which is Sulphur, you can just tell him and skip the next objective. Casper will then ask you to steal some Sulphur from the vineyard for him. Now, you take two different approaches here; you can either break into the vineyard or get hired. We recommend the latter option because it is way easier.
You will be an official worker in the vineyard after the day of your hiring. This will be the ideal time to steal some Sulphur. First, speak to Jerome, who runs the place, and then shift your focus to the building on the right side. Head inside the building and then take a left, and you will stumble across a door with medium difficulty. Simply pick the lock and enter.
This room contains what you are after, which are the Sulphur Wicks. You will be able to find them in the upper right corner of the room. Now, you can go straight back to Kuttenberg, but we advise that you stay a little longer and check out the place where the saplings are.
Collect Your Rewards
If you want some good rewards, discreetly collect six saplings for Casper. Now you can finish the vineyard-related quest named Under a Straw Hat, but if you are not interested in that, then you can just go back to Casper. and collect your reward for completing the quest. Casper will give you 425 Gorschen and you will gain some reputation but if you bring the saplings back as well then he will give you an additional 425 Groschen.
