Is there only one ending to Blue Prince? Or, is there more to the story after the credits roll? Find out as we explain the Blue Prince Ending.

Spoiler warning: Blue Prince is a game that tells its story through documents and puzzles, and this article contains major spoilers. The ending to Blue Prince has left a lot of gamers confused, especially because of its heavily political themes, which slowly reveal themselves through in-game letters and documents. Today, we will explain the Blue Prince ending—or what happens when you open the objective of the game: room 46.
The Ending to Blue Prince

The lore of Blue Prince is scattered in documents and books found in various rooms. Some rooms unlock more rooms, while others hide secrets—one of the game’s strong points. As it plays around with the roguelike genre, piecing all of this together takes some time. So far, we know about the ending of the game when the credits roll. However, there might be more than one ending, or at least a clearer explanation of what we saw in the ending cutscene.
In the Nursery room, there is a book about a Red Prince. This is one of the first hints about the story of the Blue Prince. The character of the Red Prince initially seems like the antagonist of the game, but in fact, may actually be you.
The inheritance of Mt. Holly is not just the inheritance of the manor, but an entire barony. There appears to be a political story behind the game, mainly tied to the colors blue and red. Later, we find out that another rebel faction rose up before you arrived at Mt. Holly. All of this information is scattered in documents found in the manor. But there are more secrets in the rooms than you may realize at that point.
The True Ending to Blue Prince: Is It There?
You need the basement key and the sanctum key to reach room 46. When you finally reach the end of Blue Prince—that is, room 46—in true roguelike fashion, you discover that room 46 is just the end of your first playthrough. Multiple questions and secrets come to mind as you watch the final cutscene. The Red Prince, the poem written by your mother, has a second part that was not present in the game until now.
The second part is narrated in the ending cutscene. This cutscene also shows the blue door and the eight locked doors you encountered. This indicates that there is more to the manor than what you initially saw.
The game rewards you with more RNG-favored mechanics that help you explore additional rooms and their secrets. The mystery of the paintings and the political background of the protagonist remain unresolved, as the game’s true ending has not yet been achieved by anyone. Blue Prince still has a lot to uncover after the credits roll, which you can explore at your own pace. However, the only complaint some players have is the lack of any rewards after the ending. You are forced to start the next day, leaving behind all the items and rooms you drafted the day before.
