Unravel the enigma of the Mechanarium and find what lies in its rooms with this guide. The doors and secret pathways of Mt. Holly await you.

Blue Prince has earned its place as the best reviewed indie game of 2025 so far. Its intricate mysteries and abundant lore has turned gamers into urban explorers. The game’s utilisation of rogue-like elements combined with puzzle solving and exploration is one of the best in the genre. Blue Prince is available as a day one release on Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus for players with a budget to dive in.
As with any puzzle game, players are bombarded with an overwhelming amount of brain-wrecking riddles. This can make beating the game and uncovering its true nature indeed very challenging. This guide will explain how to unwrap the secrets of the mirror room, also known as the Mechanarium, and help you discover what lies beyond. So let’s boot up your console or PC and start exploring the vastness of the Mt. Holly mansion.
What Is the Mechanarium in Blue Prince?

The mirror room or Mechanarium resembles a mechanical spider with eight legs. Each leg of the Mechanarium is essentially a door. But it isn’t as easy as just walking through the door, as most of them have some requirements, to remind us that we’re playing a video game. The one thing you should go on an odyssey in this room for is the Sanctum Room Key, among other great loot.
Now let’s get into the meat of this room and play its absurd game to get our hands on some rare loot.
To get access to the Mechanarium, you’ll need to find a blueprint in the Underground area of the game. Once the blueprint of the mirror room is unlocked, the room will show up in your draft at a random time. Even if the room has eight doors, only one of them is open, which is the entrance. The goal of this area is to open all the remaining doors.
The Preliminary Requirement

To gain access to all the doors of Mechanarium, the game will check the number of gear rooms you’ve drafted before you choose the Mechanarium. The rooms with gear icons include Workshop, Utility Closet, Pump Room, Boiler Room, Laboratory, Security Room, and Aquarium. (with the electric eel upgrade)
If you have seven or more of these rooms already drafted, the Mechanarium will be fully accessible for you, with all the doors available.
Method 1: Chamber of Mirrors

The one trick to gain access to the Mechanarium is to draft the Chamber of Mirrors in your run. The Chamber of Mirrors allows duplicates of a variety of rooms to reappear in the draft pool. So on paper, you’ll be able to get two Workshops, two Utility Closets; basically the double of any gear room. Once you have seven rooms with gear icons drafted, just wait for the Mechanarium to appear in the next run of Blue Prince.
You can craft a powered electromagnet in the workshop to increase the chances of gear rooms showing up in your rogue-like run of Blue Prince.
Method 2: Sealed off Pathways
This method is basically “cheating the system/gaming the system”, but we have no regrets as everything is fair in love and video games. Before you activate the Mechanarium, the game detects how many open pathways there are in each slot of the manor grid. Excluding the entrance, you need seven gear rooms, which include three cardinal directions and four diagonal segments. The four diagonal segments are basically extra rooms.
The “cheating” comes into play when you block off the remaining cardinal directions in the game. This decreases the number of required gear-type rooms, which halts the creation of additional doors. Essentially, you can create a path reaching the slot where you’d want the Mechanarium to show up. If these paths are blocked by default, i.e., placing rooms with walls adjacent to the Mechinarium’s desired slot, they won’t count towards the required tally.
Basically, if you shut off the three remaining cardinal directions and place the mechanarium in the center of the section, you’ll only need four geared rooms for access in your run.
Rewards Found in the Mechanarium in Blue Prince

The extra doors in Mechanarium have randomized rewards. The one fixed and guaranteed reward is the alternate lever for the Antechamber. However, the most valuable reward you’ll gain after completing the last door is the Sanctum Key. The rest of the loot is mostly gems, coins, and other random valuables based on your luck and the RNG’s odds.
