This Outer Worlds 2 guide will walk you through the Ascent in the Howling Tower, a side quest on Paradise Island.
Outer Worlds 2’s Ascent in the Howling Tower sees Officer Kaur sending you on a difficult mission. Kaur wants you to go to Skycutter A102 and use the control panel to send a power surge and weaken the Vox’s defense mechanism. Sounds doable, until you realize that Skycutter is now overrun by the Raptidon. Since the matter is urgent, you can’t afford to skip out on this quest, especially if you want an easier time in The Saboteur of Paradise. How To Complete Ascent in the Howling Tower in Outer Worlds 2
Unlocking the Quest
You unlock this quest automatically after completing the Above and Beyond Repair quest. Once you do, Officer Kaur will then direct you towards Skycutter A102, where she wants you to launch a power surge strong enough to disable the Vox’s defense mechanisms. You’ll have access the Skycutter’s controls and overload the Vox Relay to do so.

Wrap up the conversation with Officer Kaur and head to Skycutter A102, which is on the northern side of Paradise Island. As you head to this area, you’ll have to cross a bridge that has been contaminated by a gas leak. Use your Gas-Energy Deflection Apparatus to pass, and then enter Skycutter A102.
Once you’re inside the building, head downstairs, and you’ll find a locked door. This door needs the Skycutter Entrance Key to get through. You’ll find this key just a floor below, where you’ll have to defeat a few enemies. Defeat the enemies, and you can then loot the Skycutter Entrance Key off a corpse in the corner.
Use the Skycutter Entrance Key to unlock the door and head deeper into the facility. You’ll find the Skycutter elevator here, which seems to be out of order. Take the stairs at the end of the hall and head upstairs. Following the ladders and stairs will then lead you to a terminal beside the elevator. Interact with this terminal, and use it to restart the elevator.
The moment you restart the elevator, you have to fend off a Raptidon ambush. Kill all the enemies and wait for the lift to arrive. Take the lift to the top floor, and use the door before you to exit onto the balcony. You’ll find the Skycutter controls here. Use these controls to send a power surge, and then return to Officer Kaur to complete the quest and earn the following rewards:
