In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Darkfire Shortbow is a great bow you can get during Act 2 – this short Guide explains everything you need to know about the Darkfire Shortbow in BG3.
Darkfire Shortbow
In Baldur’s Gate 3 the Darkfire Shortbow is a great off-hand range weapon which grants resistance to both Fire and Cold damage. More significantly, it grants access to the Haste spell, which grants the target Hastened. They will gain a +2 bonus to Armour Class, Advantage on Dexterity Saving Throws, their Movement Speed is doubled, and they can take one additional Action per turn. This effect lasts for 10 turns, after which the target will become Lethargic and slow.
While you’ll find better bows in the game for your main range-damage characters to equip, the Darkfire Shortbow is a great off-hand choice for melee builds to use.

How to Get the Darkfire Shortbow in Baldur’s Gate 3
In order to get the Darkfire Shortbow, you must visit Dammon at the Last Light Inn during Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3. Depending on how you have played the game and the story choices you’ve made, you may remember meeting Dammon at the Druid’s Grove in Act 1. He is one of the many Tieflings who were seeking refuge there away from the threatening goblins.
Dammon will only be available as a trader in Act 2 if you defeated the goblins and goblin leaders in Act 1 to protect the Grove. If you let the goblin leaders live, or if for any reason you provoked a fight with the Druids in the Grove then the Tieflings will die and Dammon with them.
If Dammon is alive you will find him at the Last Light Inn, which is located in the northern portion of the Shadow Cursed Lands. He’ll have set up a forge in the stables and you can speak and trade with him there.
