Dragon Age is back after a decade-long break, with stakes higher than ever in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The story picks up right where it left off in the Inquisition, and The Veilguard throws you into a world still reeling from the events of the last game. As Elven gods come to life and pose a threat to Thedas, you and your crew will explore these lands and see first-hand the impact of these forces. The side quests in the game explore the intricacies of invading forces, religious fanaticism, and so much more. The more you explore, the more quests you’ll stack in your log. At a certain point in the game, however, you will reach a point of no return. After this point in the story, you will be unable to pursue the side quests, and any quests pending in your log will remain incomplete. The game will then take you through the remainder of the game in a very on-rails experience.

Where Is the Point of No Return in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

The point of no return in Dragon Age: The Veilguard is reached in the final stretch of the game, close to the end. Beware of spoilers as we shall discuss the story events in this final stretch. You reach the point of no return in Dragon Age: The Veilguard during the ‘When Plans Align’ quest.

The game notifies you that starting the quest will lead you to the end of the story when you select the quest. In this quest, you meet Morrigan at the Cobbled Swan in Dock Town. “This will start your final adventure and permanently cut off all incomplete or undiscovered quests,” the game will notify you when you reach the location. Furthermore, you will be locked off from preparing your companions if you go ahead with the quest. Click on ‘Begin Now’ to go past the point of no return, or click on ‘Prepare Further’ to back out.

Be Prepared

“If you’re confident that you’ve prepared your allies enough to face the gods, take the fight to Elgar’nan and Ghilan’nainm,” the game says before you accept the quest. This is not a suggestion but a warning. If you head into the final battle unprepared and under-leveled, you will find yourself overwhelmed.

We recommend doing all companion quests to unlock their respective rewards and leveling up your companions to the max. We also recommend picking the best gear and upgrading it as much as you can.
