Finding the Goblin Camp and Entering the Shattered Sanctum
There is a waypoint within the Goblin Camp if you’ve already been there. You can use that for fast travel if possible. If you haven’t found the Goblin Camp yet, you can get there by traveling directly west from the Emerald Grove. You’ll need to make your way around (or through) the Blighted Village. There is an ambush waiting for any group that tried to come in directly through the main entrance to the Village on the east side. You can avoid it by crossing the bridge leading towards the Village and then before heading inside, simply turn to the left and head south around it.
There are some other bonuses you can find while in the Village, however, such as the Necromancy of Thay and the Quasit Familiar (Shovel). Don’t pass these up either!
Once you’ve made your way through or around the Blighted Village, take the path heading southwest across the water. You’ll find a heavily guarded entrance to the Goblin Camp. The only way inside it to go through this main gate. You’ll need to either fight or persuade your way into the Goblin Camp. If you end up having to fight, don’t worry about aggroing every single goblin in the place. You’ll only have to fight the guards. All the other goblins you come across in this area assume that since you got in, you must have passed legitimately.
Once inside the camp, make your way north through the courtyard to the temple entrance. Inside is the Shattered Sanctum. You can enter the doors without question, but will encounter another set of goblin guards inside. You’ll need to succeed on some relatively easy dialogue checks to get past them. Once inside you’ll be very close to unlocking Loviatar’s Love!

Find Abdirak and Pass His Dialogue Checks
Once you’re past the guards keep walking down the long entry hallway until you’ve made your way into the main area of the Shattered Sanctum. Immediately turn right/east and make your way up the stairs. At the top of the stairs take a left, away from the room where there is a man hanging on a torture rack. The next room on the right you’ll find Abdirak standing in the back, facing away from you.
Approach and click to interact with him. Make the following dialogue choices:
- “You mean the one they’re torturing?”
- “It’s appalling.”
- “Clever man. How did you know?”
- “And how would you do that?”
- “All right, why not?”
How to Get Loviatar’s Love in Baldur’s Gate 3
This will start the ‘peace through pain’ portion of the dialogue. Abdirak will choose a weapon to flail you with, while your character steps into place. You will now have to pass three separate Performance or Intimidation checks in order to pass. Conversely, you can also choose the Constitution option. This is different in that to ‘pass’ you need to actually fail the Constitution roll while your HP is still above 40%. Typically, going with the Performance or Intimidation checks is more straight forward.
Performance and Intimidation are both based on your Charisma ability stat. The first dice roll only has to pass a 5 difficulty check, while the following two rolls are both 10 DC.
After the three hits, keep standing there. Abdirack will hit you one more time, and then you’ll enter into another dialogue with him. He’ll say that Loviatar herself is pleased and has deemed you worth of her blessing.
After you’ve exited the conversation, you can pull up your character/inventory screen. You’ll find Loviatar’s Love unlocked and noted underneath the list of Conditions. With this bonus, 30% Hit Points or less, you gain a +2 bonus to Attack Rolls and Wisdom saving throws. Keep in mind that you will lose Loviatar’s Love upon your character’s death, even if they are revived afterward. So it’s not full permanent but so long as your character doesn’t die it will remain through any and all Short or Long Rests!
How to Remove Loviatar’s Love in BG3
If for some reason you want to remove the Loviatar’s Love buff in Baldur’s Gate 3, all you need to do is kill the character who has it. Or passively let them die in battle. Once they are dead, you can return to Withers and resurrect them back into your party.
Overall, Loviatar’s Love is an unexpected positive buff granted by an unexpected source. Abdirack will likely seem like an unimportant side character when you first meet him. However, taking his conversation in the right direction and being willing to endure some punishment can grant your character a decent early game bonus.
