Moreover, it is the first ranged weapon that was added in Minecraft. A basic bow is quite useful in many situations, but you must enhance it with enchantments to make it a truly deadly weapon.
But what should you enchant it with? Here are some of the best enchantments you should have on your bow in Minecraft.

5) Punch
Punch is one of the more fun enchantments for the bow compared to the rest on this list. What Punch does is add a higher knockback effect to your arrows. Hitting an entity with a Punch-enchanted bow knocks it back a few blocks. It can help you keep dangerous mobs away very easily. Additionally, you can prank your friends by shooting them and pushing them off high places from a distance.
4) Flame
If you are familiar with the Fire Aspect enchantment for the sword, you might have an idea of what Flame does. A Flame-enchanted bow shoots out flaming arrows. Not only does the arrow from this bow light entities on fire, but it can also light up some blocks. The blocks that are affected by a flaming arrow are TNT, campfires, and candles. Moreover, a flaming arrow does five hearts of damage over five seconds.
3) Infinity
The Infinity enchantment allows your bow to shoot out an infinite number of arrows as long as you have one arrow in your inventory. However, this only lasts as long as your bow has durability. This is not a very recommended enchantment, as Infinity and Mending cannot exist on the same bow. We recommend getting Infinity if you do not plan to use the bow with other enchantments.

2) Mending
Mending is one of the best enchantments for any equipment in Minecraft, including the bow. Every piece of equipment in Minecraft has a durability number. The durability of the equipment starts to decrease as it is used. Usually, you need to repair the equipment to restore durability, but the cost keeps increasing, making it impossible to repair after a certain point. Mending solves this problem.
What Mending does is it repairs your bow as you keep getting experience orbs that drop from killing mobs and other actions. You can easily repair the bow without using any resources at all. We recommend making an XP farm to fully utilize Mending. However, Mending and Infinity cannot exist on a single bow unless you use Creative mode.
1) Power
The best enchantment you can have on your bow is Power. This enchantment lets you increase the damage your arrows deal to entities. There are a total of five levels of Power you can have, with Power V being the highest. The damage increases 25% per Power level, so the more, the better.
A normal bow does six damages at full charge. However, a Power V bow does fifteen damage instead, and twenty-five if you hit a critical shot. The best way to get Power V is to combine two Power IV books or bows to make one singular max Power bow.
