You use your experience to find Room 46. There are many puzzles in this game, and one of them is the Castle Cipher. This puzzle is very tricky, and you might get stuck on it if you miss a single step. Therefore, we decided to help you in this situation by making this guide.

How To Solve Castle Cipher in Blue Prince
The Castle Cipher is found in the Chess Chamber/Precipice. There are multiple layers to this puzzle, and we will solve them one by one.
Finding Cipher Letters
As you break the wall in the Precipice, you will come across the word CASTLE, with two blanks alongside each letter. The first task is to fill these blanks with the correct letters. Although you can find these letters while exploring the manor, we’ve listed the correct locations below:

- Check the shelf in the Kennel.
- Inside the lockers in the Locker Room.
- On a passport found in the Deposit Box inside the Vault.
- Behind the shelf in the Secret Passage.
- Behind the statue in Cloister.
- Draft Schoolhouse to find the remaining hints for this cipher.
- Check the Moraven Map with a magnifying glass in the Grade 4 Classroom.
- Look up Erajan Translation in the Grade 8 Classroom.
Acquire Castling Rights
In Precipice, you will find a chessboard with some pieces. In order to solve this cipher, you must acquire castling rights. However, to complete this task, you must have the power of the rook and king. You can only acquire one power per day, so it will take two days to complete this task. After getting these powers, simply castle with the pieces to unlock a new path.
Mora Jai Riddles
After entering the newly unlocked passageway, you will find eight more riddles waiting for you. Here are the riddles:
- “In Aries Court where the king now lays”
- “On the Scared Hour that timeworn phase”
- “Will a youth approach with empty arms”
- Without gifts or gold nor mannered charms”
- “And in the sky above a brilliant sign”
- “A sullen cross as five starts align”
- “A patient figure, a reckoning great”
- “The Black Key is lying with the last king of eight”
These riddles will lead you to a specific area, but you should know a few things before arriving:

“Empty Arms” and “Without Gifts”
According to this riddle, you must have nothing in your inventory. You will have to start a new run and must not pick up your gold allowance or any other item.
“Sky Above and “Sullen Cross/Five Stars”
Head to the observatory and use the telescope to find the Southern Cross constellation active. The constellation becomes active when the star counts are 5, 8, 13, 16, 25, and so on. At 50 and 100 stars, the game will activate new constellations, and the Southern Cross is one of them.
“On the Scared Hour That Timeworn Phase”
The sacred hour in Blue Prince is 1:30 PM, so you must arrive at this place before that time. Make sure you have nothing in your inventory, and the constellation must be active.

The Clock Mechanism
As the clock hits 1:30 PM, the tomb will rise, and you will see a clock mechanism. Now you will use the hints collected from the different areas. After searching the entire manor, you will come up with the following pattern:
- C – I – X
- A – D – D
- S – I – X
- T – O – R
- L – O – R
- E – T – T
With the help of a little common sense and the Erajan translation, you will be able to solve this cipher. Here’s the breakdown of these patterns:
- CIX means 109 in Roman numerals.
- ADD SIX is nothing complex, as it means add 6 to 109.
- TOR LOR ETT means to head east in a counterclockwise direction.
Place the clock hands so they represent 01:09. Add six to the minute hand in the counterclockwise direction to make it 01:15. Lastly, move the minute hand counterclockwise until it approaches the word “east,” which will make the time 12:26.
