If you are puzzling over the Clock Tower in Blue Prince, you are not the only one. The room is easy to miss and even easier to misinterpret. It’s one of those rare spaces that you can’t stumble into accidentally—you have to make a specific set of choices to even access it. Let’s walk through the steps, one part at a time, so you can crack the Clock Tower’s secret before your run resets.

Steps To Solve the Clock Tower Puzzle in Blue Prince

How To Find the Clock Tower in Blue Prince

You can’t plan your entire run around this room unless you have already seen it at least once. The Clock Tower only shows up again after you have discovered it previously. It’s a dead-end room with just one entry, so it doesn’t link up well with many layouts. That makes it a tricky addition, especially since your manor map has limited space.

Before anything else, make sure you have added the Drafting Studio to your manor. It takes 2 gems to place it, and this is the only place where you can get the Clock Tower floor plan. Inside the Studio, there’s a drafting table that shows three possible rooms. If the Clock Tower isn’t one of them, you will need to re-enter the Studio on another day and check again.

When you do see the Clock Tower available, be sure to draft it. It costs just one gem and gives you a key for every Tomorrow Room already drafted. That can come in handy later, but it doesn’t help much with your current run. Still, it’s the only way to trigger the hidden puzzle inside.

Timing Is the First Obstacle

Once you have placed the Clock Tower in your run, the next challenge is timing. The Clock Tower puzzle is only available if you arrive before 1:30 PM in-game. Since you start your run at 8:00 AM and each in-game hour equals around five real-time minutes, that gives you roughly 27–30 minutes to reach the room.

Once you enter the Clock Tower, don’t rush. Just wait. The moment the working clock inside hits 1:30 PM, a hidden door opens at the base of the structure. If you arrive late, the door stays shut, and you will have to wait until your next run to try again.

Understand the Puzzle Room

Past the secret door, you will find a group of eight grandfather clocks. Each one comes with a note offering a clue. These notes are the key to solving the puzzle, and there are some details you will want to keep in mind before adjusting any clock.

Early Hints You Should Pay Attention To

  • Visit the Security Room to learn how to interpret note colors.
  • Not all red notes are alike. Handwritten and typed ones offer different kinds of clues.
  • Some notes focus on the entire group of clocks; start there before addressing specific ones.
  • Notes one, six, and eight provide structure—treat these as your base rules.

Once you have this context, it’s easier to figure out which clocks relate to which clues.

Solve the Clock Puzzle

Each clock has to be set to a specific time. You won’t get help from the game’s UI, so keep a notepad or screenshot handy. Here’s the correct way to configure each clock:

ClockSet TimeReason
15:00One of five clocks ending on the hour
25:08Reversed pairing with Clock 7, must follow numeric rules
35:57Includes a seven, matches the constraint of no 1–4 digits
46:00Neighbors need to contain a seven
57:00Has to contain a seven and be on the hour
68:00Meets criteria of no low digits and ends on the hour
78:05Reverse of Clock 2, continues the numeric pattern
89:00Completes the ascending sequence with an hourly time

The placement order matters as much as the specific times. Double-check that your adjustments keep the times rising from left to right.

The Final Reward

Once you have set all eight clocks correctly, focus on the fifth one. A hidden drawer at the bottom will open. Inside, you will find a Sanctum Key. It’s one of three in the game, and the only one located in the tower, hinted at earlier by a note in Room 46. If you have been collecting these keys, this one completes a major step.

There’s no shortcut to solving the Clock Tower puzzle. It demands attention to detail, careful reading of clues, and precise timing. Planning your manor layout ahead of time helps, but even then, reaching the tower before the 1:30 PM cutoff is a race against the clock.
