Blue Prince has tons of puzzles you can solve, but as you progress through and reach closer to Room 46, they get exponentially harder. The puzzles then start requiring you to use special items, some of which can only be bought through gold. Gold, therefore, becomes an essential currency pushing you all the way to your goal.
Your main way of earning gold in Blue Prince is through exploration, but this can get a little frustrating due to the RNG nature of the game. A more consistent way to earn this currency is through the Allowance, where you’re given gold as pocket-money at the start of each run. You can increase the amount of gold you receive as Allowance by finding Allowance Tokens.

As stated earlier, Allowance Tokens are all over the map in Blue Prince. Some of these tokens are locked behind puzzles, while others require you to scan a room or area thoroughly. Below, we’ve listed the ways to get Allowance Tokens in the game:
- Solve the Mora Jai puzzle boxes inside the Trading Outpost, Solarium, Inner Sanctum Rooms, Master Bedroom, Red Door Underground, and Closed Exhibit.
- Trade a Showroom item at the Trading Outpost.
- Check behind the the statue in the Cloister.
- Get the Cloister of Lydia upgrade.
- Complete experiments in the Laboratory.
- Open the safety deposit boxes in the Vault.
- Light the ruby-socketed candelabras in the Tomb to find a token.
- Get the Quest Bedroom upgrade.
- Solve the Room 8 puzzle.
- After drafting the Entrance Hall with the Blessing of the Monk, smash the vase that originally contained a Microchip to find a token.
- Draft the Tunnel room with the Blessing of the Monk and solve the Mora Jai puzzle box.
- Drain the Reservoir and open the submerged white chest.
- Reclaim the Throne Room crown and solve the Mora Jai puzzle box after.
- Solve the Clock Tower puzzle again after drafting it outside with Blessing of the Monk.
