The Underground area of Blue Prince has a reservoir boat that helps you reach new areas in the game. Riding it, however, is a puzzle in itself. Here’s how you can ride the reservoir boat in Blue Prince.

Riding the Reservoir Boat in Blue Prince

You can ride the reservoir boat only after certain requirements are fulfilled. The reservoir boat is located in the western area of the underground level. You can access the underground level through three paths: the Fountain, the Tomb, and the Blue Flames elevator.

When you reach the underground area, you will notice a large gear puzzle that allows access to the upper areas. But before that, you need to draft a Boiler Room and a Pump Room to drain the reservoir to a specific level, as hinted at in the upper area of the gear puzzle.

Go past the Red Door found in the underground area. The Red Door is unlocked through the Boiler Room by powering the red power box located within it.

Then, use the gear mechanisms to cross to the other side of the gear puzzle. There, you will notice a window with drawings. Look through the window, and you will see the drawings align with the scene beyond. These drawings indicate the water levels required for the boat to dock.

Pump Room Configurations for Riding the Reservoir Boat

To ride the reservoir boat, you must first drain the water in the reservoir to the +13 Dock Level.

• You can drain the water levels with the help of the Boiler Room and the Pump Room.
• Go to the Pump Room and make sure the pump is activated. Drain the water from the Kitchen using Tank 2. The levels on Tank 2 will indicate as 1.
• Use the back switch to set the pump to Tank 2. Then, activate the reservoir switch at the console and turn on the middle pump.
• This will lower the reservoir by one level. This step assumes the reservoir is currently full, as the water levels remain constant over multiple days.

You cannot drain the reservoir directly to +6 or 0 in a single step. Instead, you must lower it to +13, then to +6, and finally to 0. This process requires some backtracking, but if you run out of steps, you only need to draft the required rooms since the water levels remain consistent throughout your playthrough.

Once the reservoir level reaches +13, go to the location of the reservoir boat and interact with it. This should trigger a cutscene where Simon rides the boat and reaches the Foundation side of the Underground.
