This guide explains how to use the best Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) Stamina Nightblade PvP Build, skills, gear, champion points, and more!
This build has been updated for the Updated 42, the Gold Road Chapter of the Elder Scrolls Online (ESO).
Stamina Nightblade PvP Gameplay in ESO
The Stamina Nightblade (Stamblade) in ESO PvP offers remarkable burst damage potential and exceptional versatility in playstyle. However, these strengths come with a steep learning curve and significant reliance on stealth mechanics. You’ll want to play this build if you want a stealthy rogue to take a hit up close and get away like a thief in the night.
We recommend playing as a Vampire in Stage 3 to take advantage of two passives. Strike from the Shadow gives you a boost in Weapon damage when leaving stealth. Along with Undeath making you very tanky the lower your health gets. While vampires make you much “tankier,” keep in mind it’s at the expense of having weaker resource sustainment.
Nightblade Class Pros
- Best Burst: The Stamblade boasts the highest burst damage output, making it ideal for ganking, brawling, or utilizing the Asylum staff with Force Pulse. This burst potential allows for quick and decisive takedowns of opponents.
- Stealth: Nightblades excel in stealth mechanics, offering constant access to this unique skill. This ability to remain hidden allows players to avoid unwanted engagements and choose their battles strategically.
- Versatile Playstyle: Whether you prefer ranged or melee combat, or even a bow-based approach, the Stamblade excels in all forms of PvP. Its adaptability allows for various tactical approaches, ensuring dominance in any situation.
Nightblade Class Cons
- Complexity: Playing a Nightblade requires a high skill cap and deep knowledge of ESO PvP mechanics. Mastering the class’s intricacies, including stealth mechanics and burst rotations, can still be challenging for less experienced players.
Playing a Stamina Nightblade in PvP revolves around leveraging your burst damage, stealth capabilities, and adaptability to outmaneuver and outmatch your opponents. Whether engaging in close-quarters combat, launching surprise attacks from stealth, or picking off enemies from range, the key is to strike swiftly and decisively.

Skills
Skill Set 1 Front Bar
Merciless Resolve (Morph of Grim Focus | Skill Line : Assassination) – Maintain this buff at all costs as it increases your weapon damage for each stack. You can also proc the 5-stack shot and fully-charge heavy attack from stealth to proc a “follow-up” 10% extra damage from the two-handed and fire it off. This will essentially nuke a player not even using an ultimate. Moreover, you want to be in range for the extra healing benefit.
Power Extraction (Morph of Drain Power | Skill Line : Siphoning) – Gives major buff and minor buff so it’s actually better than rally. Only downside is you will have to heal yourself purely from the back bar.
Camouflaged Hunter (Morph of Expert Hunter | Skill Line : Fighters Guild) – Slotting this skill gives us increase critical chance, weapon damage and ultimate on kills via Fighters Guild passives. Moreover, it’s a great counter gank if you activate it going against another nightblade. Consider this your flex spot if you want a gap closer or something else.
Surprise Attack (Morph of Veiled Strike | Skill Line : Shadow) – Stamina main spammable that can be replaced with Concealed Weapon if you can sustain magicka.
Whirling Blades (Morph of Whirlwind | Skill Line : Dual Wield) – Flex skill but big AoE kills. Killer Blades better for single target kill.
Incapacitating Strike (Morph of Death Stroke | Skill Line : Assassination) – Single target nuke combined with fully charge from heavy attack still works well. Switch to Dawnbreaker if you want more AoE.
Back Bar
Leeching Strikes (Morph of Siphoning Strikes | Skill Line : Siphoning) – Sustain tool keep up at all times. When active each light and heavy attack gives back stamina. Consider this your flex for bow ability or stun.
Magnum Shot (Morph of Scatter Shot | Skill Line : Bow) – Used as our stunning tool that can be followed up with hard-hitting Incap ult.
Shadowy Disguise (Morph of Shadow Cloak | Skill Line : Shadow) – Land a crit at will and stealth away. Take the other morph if you want no cloak but better healing.
Healthy Offering (Morph of Malevolent Offering | Skill Line : Siphoning) – Amazing burst heal combined with resolving vigor for great survivability.
Resolving Vigor (Morph of Vigor | Skill Line : Assault) – Burst heal over time.
Swarming Scion (Morph of Blood Scion | Skill Line : Vampire) – Defensive ultimate that instantly heals you to full Health, provides AoE damage and you additionally heal for 15% of all damage you deal.
Scribing Skills & Grimoires – ESO Stamina Nightblade PvP Build
Vault and Soul Burst are the two best Grimoires (skills) for a Stamina Nightblade PvP build. Traveling Knife gives you a ranged bleed attack that acts like Rending Slashes but doesn’t require Master Dual Wield to be effective. Moreover, Traveling Knife can be given a stun in the focus script for classes lacking a ranged stun. Soul Burst is also a helpful crowd control and buff skill. You can immobilize, pull, or snare targets and get your favorite minor buffs. Below are the suggested combination of Grimoires, focus, signature, and affix scripts:
- Vault (bow) – Immobilize (focus script), Thief’s Swiftness (signature scripts), and Evasion (affix script)
- Soul Burst (soul magic) – Immobilize or Pull (focus script), Class Mastery or Hunter’s Snare (signature script), Courage or Expedition (Affix Script)
The Scribing System utilizes one of 11 new skills from the Gold Road Chapter called Grimoires. With Grimoires, you can customize spells via Scripts. The scribing feature requires the purchase of the Gold Road Chapter (sponsored link). To learn more about scribing, check out our full guide here.
