In this guide, we’ll explore how you can avoid Timefall in Death Stranding 2. It is a toxic rain in the game that can harm exposed cargo.

There’s simply no end to the weird and strange things you’ll come across during your time in Death Stranding 2. While BTs and the BB might freak you out if you haven’t played the first game, there are even more supernatural things to uncover. One of these is Timefall. If you don’t know what Timefall is, it’s the effect that occurs when the rain in Death Stranding’s world touches anything. If it touches a human being, the person ages rapidly, gaining several years in a matter of seconds.
Timefall isn’t just dangerous to people. If the cargo that Sam carries remains exposed to Timefall rain for too long, it can suffer significant damage. And, as a courier in the post-apocalyptic world, you simply cannot allow that to happen. With that in mind, here’s our guide on some ways in which you can avoid Timefall in Death Stranding 2 when out in the world.

Ways To Avoid Timefall in Death Stranding 2
The following are some of the best ways to avoid Timefall damage befalling your cargo.

Rest in Private Rooms Until the Rain Stops
All across the map in Death Stranding 2, you will find several centers and safehouses where you can seek refuge from the rain. These places usually have a Private Room for Sam, where you can inspect your gear, take a shower, or simply repair any damage that your cargo has suffered. This is an especially good idea if the Timefall area is considerable and crossing it might take Sam too long.
In case the Timefall affects a smaller portion of the map that Sam can cross without the cargo undertaking too much damage, you might be able to get through without seeking shelter. You can always utilize the game map to check which sections are facing Timefall rains. Make sure you chart a course in ways that let you get around these sections whenever possible.

Build Timefall Shelters and Store Your Cargo There

Completing the third order in the game will give you access to PCC, which you can use to fabricate different structures. While pursuing the fifth order, you will need to defeat a few BTs before you can deliver the goods. This is when the game unlocks the Timefall Shelter fabrication. These are specific structures where you can store any of the cargo you are carrying.
The stored goods remain sheltered from the Timefall rain, letting you fight the BTs without worrying about the state of your cargo. Since Timefall Shelters also repel BTs, you can rest inside for short periods until the Timefall ends and you can proceed safely.
Keep in mind that you can make the Timefall rain stop immediately when it accompanies BTs in an area. Defeating the BTs will clear the skies and halt the damaging rains from pouring over your cargo. However, if you prefer a stealthier approach, the above-mentioned methods are often the best ways to safeguard Sam’s haul.
