Welcome to our Destiny 2 A Distant Pull God Roll and How to Get Guide. A Distant Pull is a Rapid-Fire Frame Stasis Sniper Rifle that can be obtained as a drop from activities introduced during the Season of the Deep.
Sniper Rifles are great options for PvE and PvP. They do decent damage to bosses in long range situations in PvE. They are a favorite in PvP allowing for one shot kills, provided you can hit your headshots.

How to get A Distant Pull God Roll in Destiny 2
To get A Distant Pull in Destiny 2, players will need to own Season of the Deep and complete the introductory mission. This will open up the Seasonal Playlists, both Scavenge and Deep Dives, which drop all of the Season of the Deep weapons, including A Distant Pull. Both playlist have a chance to drop A Distant Pull or another Deep weapon or Armor Piece. Both Scavenge and Deep Dive playlists are found on the HELM.
You can also focus the Deep Engrams that you earn at the Sonar Station found in the HELM as well if you have the Deep Weapon Focusing Upgrade. The Upgrades are found in the Seasonal Challenge Menu. Once unlocked you can focus specific weapons at the Sonar Station in the Deep Engram Decoding menu, provided you have earned them for your collections.
PvE A Distant Pull God Roll
Slot | Trait |
---|---|
Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
Magazine | Appended Mag |
Column 3 Trait | Triple Tap |
Column 4 Trait | Focused Fury |
Origin Trait | Unsated Hunger |
Masterwork | Range |
Mod | Boss Spec |
Barrel: Rapid-Fire Frames have some decent kick, so its best to try and make that as predictable as possible by taking Arrowhead Brake.
Magazine: More bullets down-range equals more total damage. Take Appended Mag for the best results.
Column 3 Trait: Triple Tap gets even more bullets down range by returning bullets every third shot.
Column 4 Trait: If you are hitting your crits, Focused Fury gets you a nice damage buff.
Origin Trait: Unsated Hunger is a decent Origin trait but you can’t take anything else anyway.
Masterwork: Range is the best choice to keep the weapon accurate and on target at greater ranges.
Mods: Rapid-Fire Frames max out their ammo capacity without the need for Back-Up Mag, so use Boss Spec instead for more damage.
Conclusion: A Distant Pull is a decent Stasis option for damage in PvE. Its craftable making it really easy to get the god roll. It is outclassed by a god roll Irukanji, but that is a bit harder to obtain if you missed the god roll Banshee was selling at the beginning of Season 20.
PvP A Distant Pull God Roll
Slot | Trait |
---|---|
Barrel | Hammer-Forged Rifling |
Magazine | Accurized Rounds |
Column 3 Trait | Keep Away |
Column 4 Trait | Opening Shot |
Origin Trait | Unsated Hunger |
Masterwork | Range |
Mod | Targeting Adjuster |
Barrel: Any barrel that adds to Range or Handling is the best choice. Range helps with accuracy and Handling helps with ADS and swap speed. Both are very important for PvP.
Magazine: Accurized rounds adds to range, making it the best option here.
Column 3 Trait: Most of the time you are using a Sniper Rifle you will be at a range so Keep Away is a great perk here. Moving Target is also a decent perk.
Column 4 Trait: Opening Shot is almost always the best perk to take when its available as it just gives a really nice buff to range and accuracy.
Origin Trait: Unsated Hunger is a decent Origin trait but you can’t take anything else anyway.
Masterwork: Range is typically the best choice in PvP. A Handling masterwork will work as well.
Mods: Helping the aim assist stat is another important PvP option, so Targeting Adjuster is a great pick.
Conclusion: This has some serious potential as a PvP sniper. It has some stiff competition, but it has the stats and traits to be effective.
