Stasis Warlock PvP Playstyle

Your Rift is key, use it when someone is going to rush you so you can freeze them with your rift. DO NOT SHOOT the ones that you freeze melee them because it is an instant kill. If you feel cornered, throw a glacier grenade near you to create a cover and get extra damage resistance. If you combine this with stag rift you will Have x3 Damage Reduction and will be able to survive a shotgun at point-blank range. You can also challenge enemies at range while sitting in your rift. You will win most 1v1 scenarios and even be able to take on 2 or 3 people so long as you freeze them. Use your super to counter the enemies roaming super you need to freeze them and shatter them two times to secure the kill.

Abilities

Abilities, aspects and fragments need to be unlocked before use. Once you’ve finished the Beyond Light campaign, the Exo Stranger will offer you a new quest called Born in Darkness. The quest has 4 parts in it that you are going to have to complete to unlock and use 100% of your stasis subclass.

Winter’s Wrath – Summon a Stasis staff. While your Super is active: [Super Primary] : Cast out a barrage of [Stasis] Stasis shards that freeze targets. [Super Secondary] : Cast out a shockwave that shatters all frozen targets. Your super does not need to be your only form of freezing targets, use your abilities to freeze them also to conserve super energy.

Healing Rift – Conjure a well of power that continuously heals those inside it.

Burst Glide – Jump while airborne to activate Glide and start an airborne drift with a strong initial boost of speed.

Glacier Grenade – A grenade that creates walls out of [Stasis] Stasis crystals to block damage and freeze targets; these walls can be shattered for damage. Flex: COLDSNAP GRENADE: A grenade that freezes on impact and sends another seeker to find and freeze targets.

Penumbral Blast – Raise your Stasis staff against your foe. Send a blast of [Stasis] Stasis forward to freeze your targets.

Aspects

Frostpulse – This will freeze anything around you when you cast your rift.

Iceflare Bolts – This Aspect will allow you to chain freeze targets.

Fragments

Whisper of Rending : Primary ammo weapons do increased damage to [Stasis] Stasis crystals and frozen targets.

Whisper of Chains : While you are near frozen targets or a friendly [Stasis] Stasis crystal, you take reduced damage from targets.

Whisper of Torment : You gain grenade energy everytime you take damage.

Whisper of Fissures : This increases the AOE explosion for Killing a frozen target.

Weapons for the Stasis Warlock PvP Build

The best weapon combination with the Stasis Warlock PvP Build is an Igneous Hammer and Conditional Finality. Since these provide the best utility for both good close-range and mid-range engagements. Also, Hand Cannon and Shotgun is one of the highest skill gap weapon combinations and is often preferred by veteran players or those participating in high levels of PVP content.

Weapon Combinations

Below are some additional weapon combinations for our Stasis Warlock PvP Build:

  1. Hand Cannon & Fusion Rifle – Best for good aimers
  2. Submachine Gun & Sniper Rifle – Best for aggressive players
  3. Pulse Rifle and Shotgun – Best for passive players

If you wish to run a different weapon combination, we highly recommend at least running a primary ammo weapon and a special ammo weapon. Running two special weapons will limit your ammo and is not functional. Even though utilizing two primary weapons is doable, you will be at a massive disadvantage due to the strength of special ammo weapons.

Hand Cannon & Fusion Rifle

While not as iconic as the hand cannon and shotgun meta that ruled Destiny 2 for many years, the hand cannon and fusion rifle combo is lethal. You benefit from mid-range engagements with your hand cannon and close-range bursts with your fusion rifle. This combination is potent for guardians who like the high skill gap of hand cannons, and it provides an easier-to-use special weapon with the Fusion Rifle.

Submachine Gun & Sniper Rifle

With close-range and long-range engagements taken care of with this pairing, however, playing very aggressively with this combination is recommended. With a submachine gun, you are lethal at close ranges, allowing you to contest most weapons within short range. A sniper rifle lets you clear a lane and push up towards your enemies.

Pulse Rifle & Shotgun

This pairing allows for both long-range and close-range to be secured. Pulse Rifles can out-range most hand cannons while providing a very easy-to-use weapon, so they work well with more passive players. Shotguns provide one-shot potential when getting rushed by enemy players that push your position.

Exotic Armor

The Stag – Option 1 Strong exotic helmet that gives you extra damage resist when standing in a rift that you make.

Transversive Steps – Option 2 Strong exotic boots that give you increase mobilty when sprinting and will auto reload your weapons.
