The EA FC 26 release date is getting closer, and the launch update’s Pitch Notes lay out what players can expect. It features a lot of new information, like pacing and gameplay adjustments, companion app release, live events, and more. With that said, the announcement also addressed some of the fan feedback from the testing phase. Some concerns mentioned include slower power progression and tighter chemistry styles.

5 Key Things From the EA FC 26 Launch Update Pitch Notes

Companion Web App and EA Play Access

One of the most important aspects of the EA FC 26 Ultimate Team is the Web Companion App. This lets you manage your club outside of the main game. This feature is very convenient, as you only need a web browser to manage your team. This means you can also do it on your mobile phone. The EA FC 26 Companion App drops on September 17, 2025. Additionally, the app refresh will go live on September 18.

As stated before, players who own the Ultimate Edition get 7-day early access. However, EA Play members won’t miss out on the fun. They can enjoy up to 10 hours of game trial if they have an active subscription. On top of that, EA Play Pro members on PC will have unlimited access to the game. However, they need to keep their membership active over the duration.

EA FC 26 is set for the worldwide launch on September 26, 2025, at 8:00 AM EST.

Slower Power Curve & Chemistry Styles Overhaul

Some gameplay changes have also been revealed in the Launch Update Pitch Notes. The game will have a much slower power curve. This means anything from stat boosts to upgrades will happen gradually. Additionally, you may notice Squads being less overpowered in the early game and will scale more steadily as you play the game.

Another thing to note is the rebalance of Chemistry Styles. The system now uses a 3/6/9-point progression instead of the usual 4/8/12 version. This change should narrow down the gaps between items. Additionally, pace-heavy styles now come with trade-offs. Furthermore, non-paced styles are more rewarded.

Early Access Content & Cornerstones

Players who purchased the Ultimate Edition will have a reason to take advantage of the 7-day early access. To celebrate the return of EA FC 26 Ultimate Team, there will be a daily Knockout Tournament hosted until the end of the early access period.

Once the early access week is over, the game will host a Cornerstones campaign. This event is designed to highlight standout players. This can be long-term leaders, promising young talents, and many more. The Cornerstones campaign offers permanent upgrades and improved chemistry links.

Live Events, Seasons & Silver Superstars

The game will frequently host Live Events. This includes Tournaments that feature classical knockouts or multi-round squad depth tests like the Gauntlets. On top of that, there will also be regular events to keep the fun going and will feature themes, objectives, and structured rewards.

As for the Seasons, these are themed around historic international tournaments. The first season will be England ‘66. Additionally, there is also extra content like A World Tour Through History and Silver Superstars. These are ICONs/Heroes or other players that are tied to the theme of the season. There will also be a special alternate progression path to incentivize players to participate.

Match Outcome & Market Access Adjustments

The game follows a straightforward match-winner decider. The team that scores the most points wins. However, EA takes match draws and other exceptions into consideration. These include whether the game drags on for 45 minutes or who wins when the quitting player concedes or has a red card. However, there is a limit as to how many times you can do this every day. This can only be done 5 times a day.

Another feature you should be aware of is the Transfer Market feature. New players will not have instant access to this feature. If you want to unlock this feature, you first have to complete the Foundation Objective Group “On Your Way.” Once that’s done, you then wait for 48 hours on PC or 24 hours on other platforms. However, returning players from EA FC 23 to 25 with a good standing can skip this.
