2024 has been full of spectacular footballing action at the club and country level. The title races for various leagues were very close, and a Champions League final that no one expected. Copa America and Euros were also held this year, which saw Argentina be the undisputed kings of South America and Spain clinch victory in a nail-biting final. Many players exceeded expectations this year, so let us take a look at the players who could potentially be included in the EAFC 25 TOTY.

EAFC 25 TOTY
Forwards
- Mohamed Salah
- Erling Haaland
- Vinícius Jr.
There were many players who were amongst the goals in 2024. Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe, are obvious choices, as they were the top scorers of last season; however, that also includes goals from last year. For the 2024 TOTY, the attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland, and Vinícius Jr. seems the most appropriate.
Salah has always been a top player for his club, but this season he has been outscoring everyone and is now the leading goal scorer and assister in the Premier League. He is a pivotal part of the Liverpool team, which is at the top of the standings in the Premier League and Champions League.
Haaland had an incredible last season where he won the Premier League with Manchester City and was the highest goalscorer. Currently, he sits behind Salah in the second position in the top goal scorers in the Premier League.
Vinícius Jr. had an incredible last season, which saw him finish second in the Ballon d’Or rankings. He was out with injury during the start of the current season but has now picked up his form. Vini will be a key player for Real Madrid as they are in a heated title race in La Liga.
Midfielders
- Jude Bellingham
- Rodri
- Cole Palmer
2024 saw the meteoric rise of many midfielders who controlled the flow of the game and dictated its pace. Players like Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, Toni Kroos, and Phil Foden are honorable mentions who could make the team as well.
However, the most impactful midfielders of the year were Jude Bellingham, Rodri, and Cole Palmer. Bellingham had an incredible year where he won La Liga and the Champions League with Real Madrid and produced magical performances to take England to the finals of the Euros 2024.
Cole Palmer had an incredible breakthrough season that saw him become Chelsea’s main man. He has been Chelsea’s top scorer and assister since last season and has continued his form this season as well. Palmer scored the only goal for England in the Euros final.
Ballon d’Or winner Rodri is the final addition to the midfield. Rodri was arguably the best midfielder in the world and won the Player of the Tournament in the Euros 2024. He was also pivotal to the Manchester City side that won the Premier League and Community Shield.
Defenders
- Van Dijk
- William Saliba
- Dani Carvajal
- Theo Hernandez
Players who just missed out on the list include Jeremie Frimpong, Antonio Rudiger, Josko Gvardiol, and Grimaldo. Van Dijk and Saliba have been the two most consistent center-backs in the world. Both of them had incredible seasons for their clubs as they conceded very few goals.
For the fullback positions, Dani Carvajal and Theo Hernandez seem to be the most popular options. Carvajal was the most successful defender in the world as he won La Liga, the Champions League, and Euros 2024 while producing clinical performances. Theo Hernandez has been a top fullback for seasons now, and his pace and creativity really put him in a league of his own.
Goalkeeper
Not many goalkeepers took center stage this year. Players like Manuel Neuer, Donnarumma, and Courtois are all top-level goalkeepers but couldn’t topple Emiliano Martinez as the best goalkeeper in 2024. Martinez had an incredible season for Aston Villa and Argentina, where he finished top four in the Premier League with his club. He also won the Copa America with Argentina and saved a ridiculous amount of penalties throughout last year.
