GTA Online’s latest update, GTA Online: Agents of Sabotage, launched earlier this month and brought in a plethora of new content. As players rush in to play the new content, however, they’re facing server outages. A bunch of players are reporting a server outage today, December 27, 2024. The GTA Online players are reportedly being kicked out of the game and are unable to play the game as a result.
Many are expressing dismay on social media, sharing screenshots of the issues. The website Downdetector, which is often used to check the server status of various platforms, applications, and game servers, also reports the GTA Online servers as down. We shall discuss the GTA Online server outage issue and its status on Down Detector in detail below.
GTA Online Server Status
As of 8:00 am ET/5:00 am PT, Down Detector shows the GTA Online servers to be down. The website server outage chart shows that there have been 12 server outage reports received thus far for GTA Online. Downdetector only reports an incident when “the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day,” confirming that the server situation is bad at the moment.
Looking to social media, several GTA Online players have shared screenshots of them unable to log into GTA Online servers. Other users chimed in, stating that they, too, were facing the same issue.

The in-game message reads,
“The game is unable to communicate with Rockstar Games Online Services. Please try again and check www.rockstargames.com/support for information about outages and scheduled maintenance. If the issue persists, please check out GTA Online Connection Troubleshooting at http://rsg.ms/connect. Please return to the Main Menu.”
What Does Rockstar Games Say?
Rockstar Games has not mentioned anything about a server outage yet. The Rockstar Games support website shows the server to be up, with the server status green. The Rockstar Games support website shows that the server status was last updated at 6:00 am ET/3:00 am PT.
