In Dune Awakening, power generation is one of the important gameplay mechanics you need to learn. Fortunately, it’s not as complicated as in other survival-crafting games. You won’t have to master something similar to the art of redstone circuitry like in Minecraft. However, it can still be quite confusing for beginners, especially those who are new to this genre.

With that said, here is a guide on how power generation works in Dune Awakening.

Before anything else, you need to claim a territory to set up a base. To do this, place a Sub-fief Console in your chosen location. Afterward, build a Fuel-Powered Generator. This is essential to keep your facilities up and running. Additionally, it will generate a shield around your base to protect it from environmental hazards and other players.

To use the generator, you’ll have to gather Fuel Cells, which are found all over the planet. They may be used directly in the generator or processed into Vehicle Fuel Cells for vehicle use.

Base Protection and Maintenance

Remember that the power generator has a finite amount of fuel. This means you will have to keep track of it and not let it run out of juice. You can check the status of your generators by interacting with the Sub-fief Console and opening its menu.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the uptime of your power generator is measured in real-world hours. Make sure you keep your generator stocked with fuel so it keeps running in case you have to leave your base for too long.

Power Management

When you are expanding your base, you might notice that your power generator powers down. This happens if you build too many facilities and your generator doesn’t have enough output to keep everything running.

Power generators have a maximum output capacity. If your base’s power demands exceed this limit, you’ll need to construct additional generators to meet the upkeep. Failing to do so can leave your territory vulnerable to environmental hazards and hostile players.

If you can’t build enough generators, you will need to turn off some of your non-essential facilities or structures to stay within the power limit.
