Nunatak is the gigantic and intimidating final boss of the Ragnarok map. Let us discuss how to overcome the Ice Wyvern and the rewards.
The Ragnarok map is a breath of fresh air in Ark Survival Ascended. It introduces new features, breeding, biomes, and more. Subsequently, it is no surprise that Ragnarok has a remarkable final boss. This boss comes in the form of a colossal Ice Wyvern named Nunatak.
You cannot merely walk to the Tribute Terminal and enter the Nunatak Arena. This intimidating Ice Wyvern is the final boss of this map, so it is no surprise that this fight will be expensive and require considerable effort to overcome.
In this guide, we will discuss the preparation required to defeat this stupendous creature, how to defeat it, and the rewards.
Get Ready To Defeat Nunatak in Ark Ragnarok Ascended
To fight Nunatak, you must be aptly prepared. You will require competent Tames, Saddles, Consumables, and Weapons before going into battle. Remember, no flying Tames are allowed in the Arena.
The following are the Tames which would aid you in battle:
| Tames | Properties |
| Shadowmanes or Rexes | For melee damage and tanking. Be sure to have 25,000+ HP and 500%+ Melee on them |
| Yutyrannus | Courage roar buffs would enhance your attack |
| Daeodon | An excellent healing unit |
| Therizinosaur | Resistance to elemental damage (in this case, ice) and great DPS. |
| Megatherium | Damage boosts against bugs help clear the Iceworm minions. Moreover, the damage and HP are respectable. |
| Allosaurus Pack | Fast stacking bleed effects ensure constant damage to the boss. |
| Andrewsarchus | The saddle-mounted minigun makes it a wonderful ranged damage dealer |
| Stegosaurus (Hardened Plate Mode) | The perfect tank to draw aggro while the DPS dealers attack |
| Reaper | Devastating tail attacks while being tanky. |
In the case of Saddles, having ones with 80+ Armor will immensely help you. You can go for either the Pump-action Shotgun or a high-damage rifle. Have plenty of Medical Brews to replenish the damage received and Calien Soup for cold resistance.
Strategy To Defeat Nunatak
As expected, prepare to ward off high-damage Ice Attacks. Nunatak is a flying enemy. Keep your Dinos on the move, as the Ice Wyvern can deal massive AoE Freeze Attacks. If they are herded and immobile, all your creatures will be frozen and damaged.
Nunatak will not always be flying. Pounce on it with all you have when it lands. This is the best time to deal as much damage as possible to the intimidating boss.
Use your ranged weapons wisely while avoiding being frozen. You are only as strong as your Mount in this battle. We suggest a Shadowmane for its speed and maneuverability. Iceworms will spring from the frozen lake mid-fight and attack. You will require stellar crowd control to clear them quickly and shift your focus back to Nunatak. Megatheriums or Rexes are your best bet for this.
Rewards
Slaying the massive Nunatak will grant you a lot of Tek rewards. However, you will not receive all the Tek Engrams.
