Toadstool Hollow’s maze-like tunnels can easily trap players in Oblivion Remastered—learn how to escape the dungeon quickly.
Toadstool Hollow is a beginner-level dungeon in Oblivion Remastered that is made difficult by a winding tunnel network that can confound a player’s sense of direction. While it’s easy to hunt down the mobs within and progress deeper into the dungeon, after jumping down the first hole in the ground, you may find yourself confused about where to go next. This guide will lead you to the exact spot for exiting the tunnel with tips on how to get there easily.
Toadstool Hollow Location in Oblivion Remastered
Toadstool Hollow is located southeast of Bruma in northern Cyrodiil. Fast-travel to the town, exit it, and find your horse in the stables to the left. Ride down the road to the south until you arrive at the Toadstool Hollow as marked on the map. The dungeon is crawling with leveled undead. Equipping a Turn Undead spell can prove especially useful in clearing it.
How To Escape Toadstool Hollow in Oblivion Remastered
Past the first zone of Toadstool Hollow, you will jump down a hole in the floor to progress deeper into the dungeon. However, this floor is a winding maze and can leave players running in circles if they don’t know where to go next.
Find the Pile of Rocks
To escape, make your way to the central Toadstool Hollow area, which connects to the Toadstool Hollow Tunnel and Toadstool Hollow Doubleback. Reach the area marked on the map to find a pile of rocks blocking a hole leading deeper underground.
Clear the Rocks
Open your inventory and drop a shield, a weapon, or a piece of armor. Manipulate the dropped object by holding the use button (E on PC). With the object picked up, jam it into the rocks and move it around to manipulate their physics and displace them. With their arrangement disturbed, most of the rocks should fall through the hole and down into the chamber below. Jump in after the rocks and slay the undead below.
Exit Toadstool Hollow
With the path cleared, exiting Toadstool Hollow becomes a straightforward matter. Head to the Great Forest exit on the south side of the chamber to leave the dungeon. If there are any areas left unexplored, and you want to complete Toadstool Hollow, jump into the hole leading further underground.
Last Resort
If you are unable to find a shield, weapon, or any other object to clear the rocks, you can pick up a weapon dropped by one of the undead. If no weapons are available, load an earlier save to procure one before entering the cave. However, if that is not an option either, your last resort is to use console commands to add such an object to your inventory. Open the console using the “~” key located under the escape key. Then type:
- player.additem 00025058 1
This will add one leather shield to your inventory to use on the rocks. Be warned that using console commands will disable achievements.
