There is a new advanced real-time lighting system, resulting in more realistically lit environments and effects. Dynamic shadows also dot the entire world. This means that there’s a completely different atmosphere depending on the time of day. Even wandering around a dungeon with a single torch feels incredible purely due to the lighting and shadows.

New Dialogue

Due to the original adhering to disc storage restrictions, Oblivion couldn’t offer many unique voices for its characters. The remaster addresses this by adding brand new dialogue and voiceovers for each race. This ensures that they sound unique. However, the iconic dialogue is still very much intact, so expect to be called “criminal scum” and being told “Stop you’re violating the law.”

However, you’ll gradually enter the deeper ruins where you’ll be alone and will be targeted by goblins and raiders. Instead of running away, you can kill them with your fists and pick up their weapons.

A shield is an important aspect of the combat system to protect you. Although you can equip a weapon and hold right click to use it as your shield, it won’t be effective enough, and you will be receiving chip damage with every hit. Chip damage can be a huge disadvantage in battle if you’re not loaded with healing items.

Weapon Shortcuts

To assign the weapon shortcuts, you can head into your inventory by pressing the I key after obtaining the weapons. Now, you can return to the game and press the assigned button to quickly take it out or simply switch it with another weapon. Fast Travel
