Polymer in Ark Ragnarok Ascended is one of the most sought-after crafting ingredients. Let’s explore where and how to farm it in Ragnarok.
Polymer is an essential resource in Ark Survival Ascended. It is one of the most versatile crafting ingredients in the game. Whether it’s Tools, Armor, Saddles, or Electronic Devices, Polymer is required for the crafting process. It is needed to craft a whopping 146 items.
There is more than one way to farm Polymer, and the Ragnarok Ascended DLC introduces a new method. In this article, we’ll discuss different ways of farming Polymer and their properties in Ark Ragnarok Ascended.
How To Get Polymer in Ark Ragnarok Ascended
Traditional Ways
There are two traditional ways of farming Polymer in Ark Survival Ascended:
- Crafting.
- Killing certain beasts in the game.
Crafting Polymer requires 2x Obsidian and 2x Cementing Paste or Achina Paste. A pestle and mortar will not suffice for this complex process. You will need a Fabricator or a Tek Replicator.
On the other hand, you can get Polymer by slaying Kairuku, Hesperornis, Mantis, and Karkinos. Unfortunately, Ragnarok is not a natural habitat for Karkinos. However, you can find the other three species, and they will give you Organic Polymer.
Organic Polymer is not the same as Regular Polymer, but both can be used to craft the same 146 items.
The New Way
Ragnarok now has Polymer Plants that you can forage. These purple, incandescent plants grow inside caves. You can walk up to these plants, interact with them, and collect Polymer.
However, there is another way. Hop onto a Maewing, and then jump over the Polymer Plant bushes. Left-click while you are going over the tops of the bushes. You will collect a hefty amount of Polymer. The Polymer Plants are hidden in a cave inhabited by a Wyvern, so expect a fight. You may need to search the area for a while because the cave is tough to spot.
