Additionally, this weapon also comes with the Light condition. An object infused with Light will cast an aura of light with a radius of 7.5 meters.
Furthermore, this is a passive attribute of the Shining Staver-of-Skulls and cannot be toggled on and off. Therefore, this weapon can be a great bonus in the Underdark and Grymforge, allowing you to see in dark places. However, it does mean that it will be harder for you and other party members within the Light’s radius to sneak or hide.
Finally, be aware that although this weapon can be thrown, when you do so the extra Radiant damage will not apply.

How to Get Shining Staver-of-Skulls in BG3?
To get Shining Staver-of-Skulls in Baldur’s Gate 3 you need to find your way into the Underdark, then reach the Decrepit Village, where you will find a boat that can carry you to the Grymforge. While traveling down the water you will be challenged by Corsair Greymon. You can choose to fight him and loot the Shining Staver-of-Skulls from him, or persuade him you’re an ally and buy the light hammer from him at the Grymforge.
Step 1- Travel into the Underdark
The easiest way to reach the Underdark in BG3 is by using the Well at the Blighted Village. After descending to the bottom, you’ll find yourself in the Whispering Depths.
In the back of this area, you’ll face the Phase Spider Matriarch boss. Once she’s defeated, cast Feather Fall on yourself and your party members. You can access Feather Fall through a spell, potion, or scroll.
Next, jump into the glowing green chasm near the spot where you battled the spider boss. With Feather Fall active, you’ll safely drop down into the Underdark.
Step 2- Travel to the Grymforge
From the point where you land in the Underdark, you’ll need to head southwest to find the Decrepit Village. Be careful as you approach because there are Duergar lying in wait for a surprise attack. You can also attempt to negotiate for the use of the boat at the docks. On the other hand, if you kill them all, then you can just use the boat at any time.
Next, Corsair Greymon will intercept your boat as you sail across Ebonlake to the Grymforge. Whatever you do, don’t push him into the water. He’ll die, but more importantly, you’ll lose all his loot. You can engage him in battle and loot pieces from his body afterward. Or you can attempt the Deception dialogue option. If successful, you’ll find him at the Grymforge as a trader and can buy the Shining Staver-of-Skulls from him.
How to use Shining Staver-of-Skulls in BG3?
The Shining Staver-of-Skulls is a fairly standard hammer weapon in BG3, and doesn’t have any special bonus trait to offer besides the Light condition. This can be helpful when traveling through the Underdark or exploring the Grymforge. Additionally, the base Bludgeoning damage can be useful for breaking down cracked walls or piles of rubble.
