As you explore the mysterious Mt. Holly estate in Blue Prince, you will receive various useful items and coins to spend. However, everything resets at the end of the day. You will lose all of them and start your next day fresh. Apart from the daily reset, there are several permanent upgrades, such as permanent additions, and upgrading floor plans with upgrade disks. These greatly help players to progress through the manor effectively.
Allowance is one such permanent upgrade. It determines the amount of gold coins you start each day with — and it can be increased in several ways. This guide explains the different ways you can increase your Allowance in Blue Prince.
Different Ways To Increase Allowance in Blue Prince
Considering the value of gold coins, increasing your Allowance is a key part of your long-term progression. Acquiring Allowance Tokens and conducting house features experiments at the Laboratory are the primary ways to increase your Allowance.
Finding Allowance Tokens
Finding Allowance Tokens is the most straightforward method to permanently increase your Allowance. However, it is not as easy as it sounds. As you explore the estate, you will come across several Allowance Tokens in certain rooms. For instance, you can obtain Allowance Tokens behind the statue at the Cloister or by opening the Deposit Boxes in the Vault.
Additionally, solving a Rubik’s Cube-like puzzle or Mora Jai puzzles is another effective way to find Allowance Tokens. It can be solved by positioning certain colour tiles on the corners of the grid and pressing the mountain-like symbols to activate them. This solves the puzzle and hence rewards you with an Allowance Token. You can find the puzzle box at Trading Outpost, Master Bedroom, Closed Exhibit, and the Tunnel.
Experimental House Features at the Laboratory
Another effective way to increase your Allowance is by conducting experiments at the Laboratory. While accessing the terminal at the Laboratory, select the Experiment Setup option to access the Experimental House Features. It allows you to mix and match the cause (column A) and effect (column B) to start an experiment. If you find an Allowance-related effect on column B, it’s your lucky day. Activate the effect with a cause that frequently occurs to boost the Allowance increase rate.
