Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently not available on Nintendo Switch, and there don’t seem to be any plans regarding bringing it to this particular handheld platform. The hardware demands of the game likely make it difficult to port the game onto Nintendo’s current system. Even Larian Studios’ CEO said that such a release “would be tough” back in 2023.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was released on Windows PC on August 3, 2023. It then came on PS5 on September 6, 2023, macOS on September 22, 2023, and Xbox Series X|S on December 7, 2023. But there still might be some hope for the Nintendo player base.

Nintendo Switch 2 Can Be the Perfect Match for a Baldur’s Gate 3 Port

With a custom NVIDIA processor, Nintendo Switch 2 can be a perfect point of entry for Baldur’s Gate 3. The bumped-up hardware of the successor may be able to run Larian Studios’ GOTY-winning title at respectable frame rates while also preserving its essence and beauty. The Switch 2 also fits well for those who wish to play Baldur’s Gate 3 co-op, be it in person or over the internet with the use of the GameChat function.

The main hurdle for such a release is still Baldur’s Gate 3’s system requirements. But, given that the Switch 2 port catalog already includes the likes of Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, and Hogwarts Legacy, there may be hope after all. Baldur’s Gate 3 remains quite popular still, with around 100k concurrent players at peak on Steam daily.
