List of Uses for a Diamond in Minecraft
Considering how rare this mineral is, you will need to be careful about how you use it. Here are some of the best uses for a Diamond in Minecraft:
- Armors, Tools, and Weapons
- Enchanting Table
- Smithing Ingredient (Smithing Template)
- Beacon
- Firework Star
- Jukebox
Armors, Tools, and Weapons

A single diamond has little use in Minecraft. However, if you have multiple of them, you need to prioritize crafting armor, tools, and weapons first. This way, you can be more efficient in exploration, especially mining in caves where there are many enemies and minerals that require high-grade tools to get.
Enchanting Table

Once you get your Diamon gear, consider crafting an Enchanting Table in Minecraft. You can get Obsidian by placing water on top of a non-flowing lava and then breaking it with a Diamond Pickaxe. The block does not drop if you use lower-grade tools.
Once you have your Enchanting Table, you can start adding powerful enchantments to your gears. This makes it even easier to survive in your world and makes tedious tasks like chopping trees and breaking blocks faster.

Smithing Template

If you want to upgrade your Diamond gears even further, you can craft a Smithing Template to transform them into Netherite gears. It can be a long process as you need to gather Ancient Debris to craft Netherite materials. However, you will be able to craft the strongest set of armor, weapons, and tools once you are done. It’s definitely worth the effort.

Beacon

Once you reach late-game, you should have a ton of resources, especially minerals, in your storage area. This is the perfect time to make a Beacon for your base. This item, when placed on top of a pyramid made out of minerals, can provide useful buffs in a radius.
If you want a cheaper version, use your Iron Ingots to make 164 Iron Blocks. Build a pyramid with it. The first layer is 3×3, the second layer is 5×5, the third layer is 7×7, and the last layer is 9×9. Once you are done, place a beacon on top of the pyramid and power it up using a Diamond. You don’t even need to use a Diamond to power up the Beacon. You can use Emerald, Iron, Gold, or a Netherite Ingot as a substitute.
Fireworks Star

You mainly use Fireworks as a rocket boost for Elytra. However, you can also use them along with a diamond to create a nice fireworks show. Adding a Diamond to the crafting recipe will create a trial effect after the explosion. You can even add a Glowston Dust for a twinkle effect on top of it. You can mix and match materials to create the Firework Rocket you want.
Jukebox

Having a Jukebox in your base can help turn a mundane session into a cozy and immersive experience. This musical block even has unique interactions with some mobs like the Parrot and Allay as they dance to the tune of the Jukebox. The music does not loop by default. However, you can use a bit of restone engineering to make the song loop multiple times or make your own playlist if you have more than one type of music disc.
All you need is one Diamond and seven wooden planks of any type to get started. You will need to explore your world for music disks. Some of them can contain soothing music while others can be a bit creepy.
