Here are the optimal settings for playing No Man’s Sky at 4K desktop resolution on GPUs with up to 16GB VRAM and higher.

No Man’s Sky is very visually appealing at 4K resolution. The game runs incredibly well, but it can become very demanding at times. Below are the settings you should dial in at 4K, provided you have ample GPU power available.
Note: The GPU power we are recommending here starts from RTX 4070 Ti Super and beyond. As for AMD, it’s the RX 9070 XT and above.

The settings below are more or less maxed out. Post-Processing, Reflections, and GTAO values are intentionally lowered to help improve visual fidelity. Over in gaseous environments, or even swamps, those effects can overwhelm your eyes. That said, everything else can be fully maxed out, as there is no shortage of GPU compute power.
On the Nvidia side, we recommend using DLAA because it delivers the best image quality and significantly reduces shimmering. If you are on an AMD GPU, you can either use the FSR SDK to force in FSR 4 support, or you can try XeSS, which is a lot better than FSR 3.1 present within the game.
XeSS now uses AI to clean up the image along with upscaling, which causes a big performance hit. You can either play at native AA with XeSS or drop down to Ultra Quality, and the image will still look good.
