No Man’s Sky is an incredibly well-optimized game. It performs well on entry-level GPUs, such as the RTX 3050 and RTX 3060, among others. However, using extensive farming mechanisms, such as using terrain deformation, across many planets may result in FPS drops, considering multiple guard NPCs show up to interrupt you. The settings below are best tuned to help you provide frame time stability and a consistent frame rate without changing much of the game’s visuals.

Gamers with an RTX 3050 or 3060 Ti should stick to 1080p and these settings. 3060 Ti users can opt for DLAA altogether and enjoy a high-refresh-rate experience. However, gamers with RTX 3070 or RTX 3070 Ti can enable 1440p, and in the process need to check their VRAM usage to avoid micro-stuttering.

The RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti are still competent cards in 2025. The only limitation is their 8GB VRAM. As long as you keep in-game VRAM usage under 8GB, you can crank up the other visual settings and see how things fare.

With the RTX 3080 and beyond, gamers can easily play at 1440p. Just ensure that on the 10GB 3080 model, you are within the VRAM limits, but from 12GB and up, you won’t run out of it anytime soon. With this kind of horsepower, you need a capable CPU to back it up. Anything within the performance range of a Core i5 12600K or Ryzen 5 7600 should suffice.

With the RTX 3090 and RTX 3090 Ti, gamers can dial in 4K with these settings. You can choose to go with DLAA, but sticking to DLSS Quality will result in a higher frame rate.
