There are numerous quests in the main storyline of Oblivion Remastered. In addition, several optional missions add an extra layer of fun and challenge. One such activity is the Malacath quest, a Daedric quest, that requires you to save a group of enslaved ogres. Upon completing the quest, you will receive a Warhammer as a reward.

How To Start the Malacath Quest in Oblivion Remastered
To begin the Malacath quest, head to the Anvil region. Next, locate the Malacath Shrine, situated west of Kvatch. As mentioned above, the Malacath quest is a Daedric quest, so you must fulfil the following prerequisites to access the attached mission:
- You must reach Level 10 to receive the quest.
- You must offer Troll Fat to the Malacath Shrine.
To obtain Troll Fat, the Malacath Shrine’s offering, you must defeat Trolls, scattered across the map. Once you defeat them, collect Troll Fat from their corpses. Also, you can purchase it from the vendors at Imperial City. After obtaining the Troll Fat and reaching Level 10, return to the Malacath Shrine to activate it and receive the attached mission.
How To Complete the Malacath Quest in Oblivion Remastered
The Malacath Shrine will task you with rescuing the ogre slaves from Lord Drad. To locate Lord Drad, head southeast of the shrine. After a short distance, you will arrive at the wooden door entrance to Lord Drad’s estate. Enter inside, and you will find Lord Drad on the first floor. Talk to him, and it will open a dialogue option with the following choices:
- No creature should be a slave
- I admire your efforts
Choose the second option to get the location of the ogres: Bleak Mine. Before heading there, collect the key to the mine from a table near the dining area on the ground floor. Now, head straight from the entrance towards the mine.
After a short distance, you will reach the mine’s door. Enter and defeat two guards near the entrance. Continue down the path, eliminating the approaching guards, and search their corpses to collect the cage keys. Soon, you will arrive in front of a cage with ogres locked inside it. Use the keys to unlock it and free them. Afterward, return to the shrine to complete the quest and collect Volendrung as a reward.
