What is Axis Invasion in Sniper Elite Resistance?
The Axis Invasion is a fan-favorite asymmetrical mode — first debuted in Sniper Elite 5 — returning in Sniper Elite Resistance. It is a unique mode that makes you the enemy in another player’s campaign, inspired by the Soul series’ Invasion. Sniper Elite Resistance describes the mode as follows:
“The fan-favourite Axis Invasion mode is back! Invade another player’s Campaign as an Axis sniper and engage in a deadly game of cat and mouse. Whether you stalk your prey, lay an ambush, or run in guns blazing, the threat of invasion provides a new dimension to the campaign’s challenge.”
In Axis Invasion, you join the campaign of another player as the elite German sniper Jager. When an invasion is triggered, the only way to end it is to kill or get killed. The invaded player will lose progress if they die during the invasion, granting a rank to the invader.
If you want to enjoy the campaign peacefully, you can also disable the Axis Invasion option in the settings. Navigate through Options > Game > Allow Axis Invasion. You can either choose Off or set the option as Invite Only.

How Does Axis Invasion Mechanism in Sniper Elite Resistance Work?
The Axis Invasion is a unique mechanism that has distinct effects and works differently for the invader and invaded player.
When Being Invaded by an Axis Invader
The Axis Invasion can occur during most missions, with the first and last chapters being exceptions. This means you will be invaded only if you reach a certain level. While NPCs can still attack you, they act as a mere threat when compared to the deadly threat of another player. As already mentioned, you will lose all your progress if killed during the invasion.
If you are on the verge of completing the mission, rushing to the extraction point is the best option, as it allows you to win the encounter. Scoping with your rifle creates a glare, which reveals your location to the other player. This works the same for the invader. Use your focus ability, which serves as your advantage over the invader, to determine their location. Actions such as gunfire, explosions, and sprinting create noise and alert the invader.
When Playing as an Axis Invader
The Axis Invader typically spawns far from the player. You can use this time to study the environment and find the best sniping spot. Also, note that NPCs won’t attack the invader, which provides an advantage during your invasion. This allows you to freely search for the player without interference.
As the invader, you have certain unique skills, which gives you an advantage over the player. Tag NPCs as much as possible to deduce the location of the player. Tagging and tracking NPCs serves as your primary way of detecting the player’s whereabouts.
