NCSoft’s Throne and Liberty has many dungeons that reward higher level rewards when completed. The dungeons mostly require a party with balanced members, and players need to cooperate with each other. Roaring Temple, previously titled Temple of Roar, is the second dimensional circle co-op dungeon that unlocks at level 30. You will need a minimum combat power of 900. It is considered a lighter version of the Temple of Slaughter Dungeon.

You need to defeat two mini-bosses, the Ancient Berserk Dark Enforcer and the Ancient Berserk Shade Wizard, before you can encounter the final boss, King Chimaerus. Roaring Temple requires excellent teamwork and planning, and this guide will prove quite useful.

You need to break five barriers in order to face the final boss King Chimaerus. You will find the first barrier near the entrance of the dungeon. Once you defeat the first wave of enemies, the barrier will be removed, and you can glide through to the next area. Then, defeat the second wave of enemies, and remove the second barrier to unlock the next area.

Operate the Mana Fluid Regulator to fill up the area with water. Then, move to the next using the Swim Morph. Keep using the same tactics. Once you defeat the enemies to remove the third barrier, operate the Mana Fluid Regulator to gain access to the next area where the first boss awaits.

First Boss – Ancient Berserk Dark Enforcer

The first mini-boss, the Ancient Berserk Dark Enforcer, guards the fourth barrier. His attack is simple. He inflicts AoE fire damage after screaming “I’ll burn your souls”. You will have a burning effect, so jump into the nearby water. You can also use the Healer to reduce the damage. Attack the boss with your party members to defeat him.

The next area was filled with fire on the ground. Switch to your Glide Morph when crossing to avoid damage from the fire pillars.

Second Boss – Ancient Berserk Shade Wizard

The fifth barrier is guarded by the second mini-boss, the Ancient Berserk Shade Wizard. You need to be careful about his AoE damage attack. He will cast an area spell after shouting “Fall Into Despair”. Try to avoid it or stick close to the Healer to overcome this attack.

The Berserk Shade Wizard will summon Ancient Zombie Mutts throughout the battle. You need to block their Fury Attack, which otherwise causes high damage. Since they will keep spawning no matter how many times you wipe them, it’s better to attack the boss instead of the dogs.

Defeating the boss removes the fifth and final barrier. Make your way to the final boss arena. Restore your health and Mana before facing King Chimaerus.

How to Beat King Chimaerus in Throne and Liberty

King Chimaerus, the boss of the Roaring Temple Dungeon, is quite difficult to defeat if there is no plan or co-operation among the party members.

King Chimaerus Attack Patterns

  • King Chimaerus will jump towards a player and attack them. The boss spits poison to inflict area damage and performs a swipe attack with the tail on the nearby player. These attacks can be easily avoided with the right timing.
  • Stunning players with poison and launching fireballs are King Chimaerus’s primary mechanisms. The boss will choose any player (targeted with a green light) from the party and stun them for a few seconds. Then, shoot three fireballs at the targeted player, which can cause massive damage and even death. The player with the tank role thus needs to stand between the stunned player and the boss to absorb the damage of the fireballs. The damage will be reduced, if other players bear the brunt of the attack instead of the target.
  • King Chimaerus also unleashes consecutive fire and poison waves from the center of the arena. These can be stopped only if you activate the four chains around the arena by grappling. This will pour water into the arena to stop the effect.

These mechanisms are repeated throughout the battle, so take note if you want to defeat the Roaring Temple Dungeon boss King Chimaerus.

In the Throne and Liberty co-op dungeons, a standard party of six will have one tank, one healer, and four DPS players. A proper tank build is always going to want to use the Sword and Shield combo as it is currently the strongest in the game. Likewise, someone running a healer build should be using Wand and Tome along with either Longbow or Staff.

Finally, if you are running a DPS build for this dungeon there is a wider range of choices. Longbow and Staff or Longbow and Crossbow are great for a powerful fully ranged build. A ranged build works best in this dungeon because you want to be able to stay close to the pillars for a quick grapple grab when needed.
