The Kuo-Toa are part-amphibian, part-humanoid creatures that are hidden away in the depths of the Underdark in Baldur’s Gate 3.
The Kuo-Toa are a fish-like species in humanoid form that exist in the world of Baldur’s Gate 3. But, they are burrowed and hidden with no markers or clues hinting at their existence. Several players have even gone through multiple playthroughs without ever encountering this amphibian species.
In this guide, we shall go over where you can find the Kuo-Toa in Baldur’s Gate 3 and the order of interactions you need to have to save them.
Kuo-Toa Location in Baldur’s Gate 3
To get to these hidden Kuo-Toa fish people, you have to first make your way to the Underdark. From the Selunite Outpost, take the window on the west and follow the path straight down in the direction of the Arcane Temple. You will meet Bill and Sturge along the way confirming that you are on the right path. Keep heading west till you reach (X: 76, Y: 241).
At these coordinates, you will see fungal growths on the cliffs and a pit ahead of you. Use the outgrown fungi and parkour to reach the other side. On the other end, go down the Cragged Rock and you will reach The Festering Cove, the home to the Kuo-Toa.
Kuo-Toa and the BOOOAL
The Kuo-Toa in the Fesering Cove are worshippers of BOOOAL, the God of Murder. As you wander the Cove, Pooldrip the Zealous will approach you, demanding you to be a sacrifice for BOOOAL.
You will be given six dialogue options, but to save the Kuo-Toa, you need to pick the first: “You can give it a rest. Your God isn’t real.” After this, you must pass one of the PERSUASION, STRENGTH or INTELLIGENCE checks. Pick the one you are best suited to pass.
Passing the skill check will give you five dialogue options to choose from. Pick option 2: “I’ll just kill you and claim it for myself.” This will trigger a fight with BOOOAL, and the Kuo-Toa will stay out of the way.
Kill BOOOAL, and the Kuo-Toa will now regard you as their new God of Murder. Go ahead and pickpocket Pooldrip to obtain the Sickle of BOOOAL rare weapon. It deals moderate damage and offers a dice roll advantage against bleeding enemies. You can also dual-wield the sickle.
