Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Mibuno Showdown Main Quest Walkthrough

Yasuke duels with Sandayu to give him an honorable death in the Mibuno Showdown main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadow.

After completing the Lightning and Thunder quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you are immediately placed in the Mibuno Showdown main quest. You enter the Tenshu, triggering the cutscene for your encounter with Naoe. To gain Naoe’s trust, Yasuke reveals the true incidents that transpired at Iga.

Lord Nobunaga, along with Yasuke and a few other warriors, is faced with Sandayu. Yasuke convinces them to let him duel Sandayu alone to grant him an honorable warrior’s death.

Duel Momochi Sandayo in Assassin’s Creed Shadow

Sandayu will use smoke screens periodically to mask his katana strikes. He also uses the right balance of attacks between kicks and lashes from his weapon. Parrying is key to beating him. His attacks are slow and balanced.

Strike whenever the opportunity arises, but be careful. If the opponent dodges, he will inflict a combo of non-dodgeable strikes. This will play out in the form of a cinematic cutscene.

After defeating Sandayu, you will have a small conversation with him. Before Yasuke kills him, Sandayu reveals a hidden blade and informs Yasuke that Naoe has the same blade and that he should trust and help her.

Yasuke and Naoe’s Confrontation in Assassin’s Creed Shadow

We are taken back to the present, where Naoe and Yasuke continue their conversation. Naoe is displeased after hearing that Yasuke is responsible for killing the Igans and the people she considers family. Naoe wishes to kill him, to which Yasuke is willing to cooperate.

Just as she is about to end his life, Junjiro arrives and asks her to stop. He explains to her how there was a time when he considered her a monster because she was responsible for killing Chichiue.

Junjiro wanted to kill her, but due to Sorin’s kindness and explanation, he changed his beliefs. He began to see her as family. Junjiro manages to change Naoe’s perspective and spares Yasuke’s life. Junjiro asks Yasuke to join him, to which both Naoe and Yasuke agree.

League of the Hidden Blade – Kakushiba Ikki

Junjiro and Naoe take Yasuke to Tomiko. Yasuke wishes to make the alliance official. She holds a small ceremony where they all sign a sacred paper, burn it, and drop the ashes inside a bowl of hot water. They all then drink the water, which is part of the Igan tradition. Naoe terms their alliance the Kakushiba Ikki.

She then guides them to a painting in the house that shows the Onrya, who were responsible for killing her father and stealing a special box. She is responsible for killing three of the Onrya. Yasuke mentions that he knows the whereabouts of one head of the clan at the Yamashiro Temple. This sets the quests for the next missions. We are given a choice to end the cutscene as either Yasuke or Naoe to begin either quest.
