In a recent Q&A, Ubisoft shared the recommended PC specifications for running the game with the desired settings. Details of PS5 and Xbox Performance and Quality Modes for Assassin’s Creed Shadows
In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, both PS5 and Xbox offer two graphic modes to play:
- Performance Mode: As the name suggests, there will be a significant change in the overall gameplay with quick loading times and improved responsiveness. Performance Mode features smooth gameplay because of the high frame rates, such as 60fps. In addition, you will notice constant frame rates, a reduction in lags, and negligible frame drops. However, all this would come at the cost of lower graphic details. Performance Mode in Assassin’s Creed Shadows uses dynamic resolution, which ignores fine details such as texture, lighting, and shadows.
- Quality Mode: This choice focuses on high-quality visuals that give players a cinematic experience. The 4K native resolution enriches the gaming with sharp graphics, which consider minute details of the map. The Quality Mode targets 30fps, which can be laggy compared to the Performance Mode. Moreover, while switching from Performance Mode to Quality Mode, you can feel significant changes in the refresh rates, frame drops, loading time, and responsiveness.
Which Mode to Choose?
The choice can be subjective to one’s taste. You can choose Performance Mode if you prefer smooth gameplay and can compromise on visual quality. This setting is generally preferred by those who are more action-focused than the storyline.
