Travel to the Ginkakuji Temple in Assassin’s Creed Shadows to complete Kuji-kiri with Naoe and earn Knowledge Points.

The Ginkakuji Temple can be visited with Naoe in Assassin’s Creed Shadows to complete its Kuji-kiri activity. The quick-time event minigame rewards you with Knowledge Points and initially helps progress the story. The temple is also worth visiting for the Ginkakuji Gardens cultural discovery and for finding its lost pages. Ginkakuji Temple is located in Yamashiro, and you will have to venture there for ‘The Peasant Who Would Be King’ main story quest for The Shinbakufu.
This article will provide a detailed guide on how to complete the Ginkakuji Temple (Kuji-kiri) in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Ginkakuji Temple Kuji-kiri Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The Ginkakuji Temple is located directly east of Kyoto’s northern district, on the other side of the river in Yamashiro. The Yamashiro region is north of Izumi Settsu, where the game begins. You can take a straightforward path to Ginkakuji Temple by heading to northern Kyoto and turning right at the Northern Kyoto Kakurega. Cross the river over the bridge and head straight on the narrow track.
As you near the Ginkakuji Temple, turn right onto a dirt track to reach the location. You will find the meditation spot adjacent to the large cone-shaped stone mound (Kogetsudai) at the center of the temple.
How To Complete the Ginkakuji Temple Kuji-kiri

Once Naoe sits down to begin meditating, you will need to recognize the button prompts and rhythm of the quick-time events. There will be four circles on the screen: top, bottom, left, and right. Each of these corresponds to a button that you need to press when it glows and a ring appears around it. The circles will glow in a set pattern. For the Ginkakuji Temple Kuji-kiri, the pattern is:
Top > Right > Bottom > Left + Right
When you start pressing the correct buttons, the prompts inside the circle will slowly disappear. Continue pressing the same sequence as the tempo increases, and the side activity will be complete.
If you find the activity challenging or bothersome, you can set quick-time events to ‘Auto’ in ‘Gameplay’ settings. The switch will not hinder your progress toward achievements and trophies.
Ginkakuji Temple Kuji-kiri Rewards in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Successfully performing the Kuji-kiri will reward you with 500 XP and a singular Knowledge Point. While you are at the location, the Ginkakuji Temple Lost Pages can be collected for another Knowledge Point and 500 XP.
