How To Beat Yuki no Kata (Nobutsuna’s Students) in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Yuki no Kata is one of Nobutsuna’s Students in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and you will have to beat him to progress further in the quest.

The Nobutsuna’s Students sidequest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows gives you six different opponents with various fighting styles. In order to progress through this questline, you will have to beat these individuals one at a time. However, they are all scattered throughout the map of the game, so finding them can sometimes become difficult. This particular mission is designed to test the player’s skill and give them a glimpse of Yasuke’s past.

Furthermore, Yuki no Kata is one of the old sensei’s students. She will be your sixth opponent in the Nobutsuna’s Students quest, and in this article, we will tell you how to seek out and win against her in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

How To Find and Beat Yuki no Kata in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Before you go and look for Yuki no Kata, first you will have to start the Nobutsuna’s Students quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In order to do that, players will have to visit Yasuke’s old sensei in his home in the southwestern parts of Azuchi. After that, the questline will officially begin, and your opponents will appear on the objective board.

Yuki no Kata will be your sixth and final opponent in the Nobutsuna’s Students side mission. She will be in Ishnohoden Shrine. It is in Harima, towards the southeast of Himeji and south of the Kanki Burned Fields. Once you open your map and look at the mentioned location, you will see that a small part of the area will be covered in blue. But don’t get confused; all you have to do is scout the blue area to pinpoint Yuki no Kata’s location.

Speak to the Samurai

Once you reach the shrine, you will notice a warrior lying on the ground in front of it. If you revive and speak to him, Yasuke will think that the Samurai is the disciple he was looking for. However, that is not the case, and the spearman will quickly tell you that Yuki no Kata challenged him to a duel while she was searching for Yasuke.

After talking to the spearman, you can go into the shrine to face the real Yuki no Kata. She will be praying there. Once you find her, speak to her, and after a short conversation about the warrior’s way, she will challenge you to a duel, and you get the option to accept. Once you agree to fight her, a brief cutscene will trigger, and after that, the real fight will begin.

Defeat Yuki no Kata

Yuki no Kata in Assassin’s Creed Shadows uses a Naginata as her primary weapon. Furthermore, you can use any weapon of your choice. But if you want to make this fight somewhat interesting, then we recommend that you use the same weapon as well. As you know, the Naginata is a polearm weapon. So naturally it has a good range. You must keep that in mind and use clever positioning if you want to win this duel.

Other than that, the fight is quite simple. Yuki will use two kinds of attacks: unblockables and quick strikes. If you have made it this far into the game, then you would already know how to deal with it. Block or parry the quick strikes when Yuki’s blade shines blue to create openings for your own offensive moves. However, if your opponent’s naginata flashes red, then dodging will be the only way to avoid incoming damage since the color indicates an unblockable attack.

Repeat this pattern and keep damaging Yuki no Kata with your own strikes and active abilities. The duel will be over once your opponent’s health bar is completely drained.
