If you manage to complete the quest dubbed Dismantling One By One in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll have a much easier time dealing with Imagawa Tomeji during that boss battle. The Dismantling One By One quest involves locating 14 captains and eliminating them. However, the problem is you don’t know where the captains are at the start.

You can find Hachisuka Norimasa in Yura Town, which is in the southeastern part of Awaji Island. You can’t deal damage to this enemy through standard attacks. Instead, you’ll first need to make him vulnerable by using dodges or parries before you can attack and take him down. You will acquire the following rewards for taking him down.

  • Outlaw’s Bane (Epic Kanabo)
  • 2000 XP
  • 2x Mastery Points
  • Blockading Awaji (Quest Item)
  • Damage after Armor Break (Engraving)

Honda Mosuke

Head northwest of Sumoto Town and towards the middle of the island to find this Captain. After slaying him, you’ll get the following items:

  • Rageheart (Epic Long Katana)

  • 2x Mastery Points

Fukushima Mosaku

Find this Captain in the northern portions of the Eshima Coast region. You can acquire the following rewards for defeating him:

  • The Legislator (Epic Teppo)
  • 2000 XP
  • 2x Mastery Points

Amano Buza

Proceed to the southeast from Kannoji Temple to locate this Captain. Eliminating him will earn you the following:

  • Wandering Elder Headband (Epic Headgear)
  • 2000 XP
  • 2x Mastery Points
  • Posture Damage after Dodge (Engraving)

Kagae Koheiji

In the Eshima Coast region, head towards the northwestern section to find this Captain. He can deal poison damage with his attacks. After defeating him, you’ll get the following:

  • Heartstopper (Epic Bow)
  • 2000 XP
  • 2x Mastery Points

Suganuma Heihachi

To complete Dismantling One By One in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll need to take down Suganuma Heihachi. He’s on the path that’s just beside Kannoji Temple. After defeating him, you will acquire the following:

  • Weathered Wildman Outfit (Epic Armor)
  • 2000 XP
  • 2x Mastery Points
  • Adrenaline with Ranged Weapon (Engraving)

Tozawa Yataro

Head northeast from Kannoji Temple to find this Captain. This enemy will only take damage during his vulnerable state. So, make sure to dodge or parry his attacks first before counterattacking him. You can get the following from beating him:

Watanabe Kinji

Reach the northern portion of the Sumoto region and locate the Lonely Homestead. The Captain is right next to this location. Eliminating him gives you the following rewards:

Ikoma Matagoro

Head to the northern portion of the Eshima Coast region to find this enemy. You can grab the following rewards after killing him:

Kuki Shinpachi

Head to the western part of the Sumoto region and discover the Sannomiya Lookout viewpoint. From this spot, head east to find the Captain. After eliminating him, you get the following:

  • The Negotiator (Epic Kanabo)

  • Damage at Low Health (Engraving)

Kaiwara Heitaro

He can be in one of two spots. Either you’ll find him in Yura Town. If he’s not there, you’ll find this enemy to the northeast of the Sannomiya Lookout viewpoint. You’ll get the following after defeating him:

  • Unbridled Fury (Epic Naginata)

  • 2x Mastery Points

Shimazu Masujiro

Reach the southern portion of Yura Town to find this specific Captain. You’ll receive the following rewards for taking him down:

  • Meiran’s Legacy (Epic Bo)
  • 2000 XP

Ogasawara Masakichi

You’ll find him walking on a road just east of the Kannoji Temple. Defeat him to get the following:

  • The Relentless (Epic Naginata)

  • 2x Mastery Points

Hasegawa Magobei

In the southernmost part of Awaji Island is the Fukura Bay region. The Captain is in the southwestern portion of this particular region. You get these rewards for defeating him:

  • Loyalty Unbound (Epic Katana)
  • 2000 XP
  • 2x Mastery Points
  • Damage with Bleed (Engraving)

Rewards for Completing Dismantling One By One in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

After you assassinate all 14 of the Captains, the Dismantling One By One quest comes to an end. You’ll receive the following rewards:
