Like previous games in the series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows offers players a chance to get their hands on a wide range of collectibles. One of these are the Kano Paintings dotting the world map. While you initially treat them as collectibles, collecting all 10 of them is necessary to complete a side quest.

In this guide, we’ll provide the location for each of Kano Paintings in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. We’ll also tell you how you can spot them easily while exploring and what quest they help you complete.

Locations for All Kano Paintings in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Every Kano Painting in the game can be found inside the different castles. In the following table, we’ll outline the general location of every painting, along with more precise ways of finding it.

Kano Painting 1	Osaka Castle	Located in Izumi Settsu, you can find this painting in the southern part of the castle inside an under-construction building.
Kano Painting 2	Takatsuki Castle	Located in Izumi Settsu, this Kano Painting is inside a building along the eastern wall of the castle. The building is to the south of the main keep
Kano Painting 3	Shoryuji Castle	Located in Yamashiro, this Kano Painting is inside a building near the eastern wall of the castle.
Kano Painting 4	Nijo Palace	Located in Yamashiro, you can find the painting by entering the castle through the western side. Then, head south along the wall until you reach a corner with a building to your left. This building has the Kano Painting.
Kano Painting 5	Azuchi Castle	This is one of the easiest Kano Paintings in Assassin’s Creed Shadows to find. It lies inside the keep of the castle. The castle is in the Omi region.
Kano Painting 6	Nagahama Castle	This is a castle in the Omi region. You should look for the painting in a building on the eastern edge, just by the water.
Kano Painting 7	Himeji Castle	A castle in the Harima part of the map, it houses a Kano Painting just to the south of the synchronized viewpoint.
Kano Painting 8	Nochiseyama Castle	You’ll encounter this castle in the Wakasa region of the map. The painting is in the southern part of the castle.
Kano Painting 9	Koriyama Castle	This one is in the Yamato region of the game. You’ll find the painting within the main keep of this castle.
Kano Painting 10	Fukuchiyama Castle	The castle lies in the Tamba region of the world map. Once there, head to a building just to the west of the main keep to locate the painting.

What Can You Do With Kano Paintings in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

You will need to collect the 10 Kano Paintings in the game to complete the Art Collector side quest. In this quest, Kano Eitoku will task you to find and retrieve all of his precious paintings from the castles around the map. The quest unlocks during Act 1 of the game.

To find it, you need to watch out for the exclamation mark on your map around the Yamashiro region. Completing the quest will reward you with 1000 XP. Also, you should note that you can collect the Kano Paintings even before getting the quest.
