Kashiwabara Fortress in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a place of loot, Progression Points, and XP. So let’s discuss how you can clear it.

Exploring and clearing castles in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an optional activity that can provide you with some much-needed loot and help you level up your character. The level structure in these places can be quite similar at times.
To put it in simple terms, to complete Kashiwabara Fortress in AC Shadows, you need to infiltrate the castle and then take out the Samurai Daisho to unlock and loot the legendary chest there. In addition to that, fortresses in the game give you lots of resources and sometimes also present you with decorations for your hideout, among other things.
In this article, we will walk you through the Kashiwabara Fortress in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. We must admit that it is not too hard to clear, but still, many players might struggle, especially in higher difficulties. So, if you are one of them, this guide is for you.
Kashiwabara Fortress Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

To find Kashiwabara Fortress, players must look to the northeastern part of the map. The castle is located in Ibu Highlands, in the Omi Region. You can go there on foot or horseback. However, the easiest way would be fast traveling to the Nagahama Kakurega, since it is the closest to the Kashiwabara Fortress. The castle is not in the best state; it is run-down and occupied by enemies. Additionally, there is only one Samurai Daisho in Kashiwabara Fortress, so taking him out won’t be too hard either.
How To Complete Kashiwabara Fortress in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Assassin’s Creed Shadows provides players the opportunity and freedom to infiltrate fortresses in any way they want, and the Kashiwabara Fortress is no exception. However, we suggest going to the eastern side of the castle. There you will find a broken fence, which is a convenient way to enter the fortress. If you choose to use this entry point, then fortunately, you will find the Samurai Daisho in an instant since he roams around the eastern courtyard.
If you are on a high enough level, you can simply assassinate the Samurai Diasho with your hidden blade. There are several good assassination spots in the fortress. Players can hide in the bushes near the eastern entry point and ambush the Daisho when he comes near them. Alternatively, you can also climb the ladder near the broken fence we mentioned and go up to the tower to perform an air assassination.
Rewards in Kashiwabara Fortress

After killing the Samurai Daisho, you can either take out the rest of the guards or shift your focus to the legendary chest in Kashiwabara Fortress. Thankfully, the castle is not a big place, and the chest will be in the courtyard as well. More specifically, you will be able to find it right in front of the broken fence entrance. You will get the following rewards in the chest:
- Time-Honored Crescent (Legendary Naginata)
- 3,000 XP
- An Emblem
- 110 Mon
However, that is not the end of it, since the castle holds some more optional rewards for you to collect. You will find three additional chests in the northern part of the Kashiwabara Fortress. The first will be in a small house, the second right behind it, and the last will be in the courtyard.
Other than that, there is a blue chest also in the courtyard and a small chest in a shed in the southern area of the castle. Lastly, you can also synchronize the viewpoint north of the courtyard to unlock it and complete Kashiwabara Fortress.
