The Perfect Gift is a series of main quests in Assassin’s Creed Shadows as part of the Golden Teppo Questline. This series of tasks involves Naoe learning the proper etiquette for participating in a tea ceremony. These skills will come in handy in subsequent missions.

This quest is fairly easy to start and finish, with starting it being the hard part. Here is everything you should know about the Perfect Gift quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

How To Start the Perfect Gift Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

This quest can be started after completing the Searching Sakai main quest. Finishing that quest will start the Perfect Gift along with the Dress for Success Main Quests. Both of these tasks are necessary to adequately prepare for the upcoming tea ceremony.

Firstly, you are tasked with finding a tea merchant in Sakai. Additionally, you will have some clues related to finding this person:

• They are in western Settsu
• They are in northern Sakai
• They are in outdoor stalls

You can use a scout or try to find the tea seller yourself. You can use the Observe feature as you get closer to locate the correct merchant with the blue marker. Talk to the merchant to start a short dialogue. Follow Sen no Rikyu to his home to learn the proper tea etiquette in the next part of this quest.

Learn the Proper Tea Ceremony Etiquette

This is the final step of this quest. You have to make some dialogue choices to complete the tea ceremony. Here are all the choices you should select for the smoothest flow.

Firstly, Sen no Rikyu will ask you to demonstrate the correct form of bowing. You should select the second option, which is to “bow halfway.” Selecting the other options will also progress the quest forward; however, he will just inform you the correct form.

Next, he will inform you to turn the teacup toward the right. You should keep this in mind for later down the line. Lastly, you will be presented with three gifts to choose from. You can choose any of the following gifts to progress the mission:

• Bamboo ladle
• Yixing teapot with a gold trim
• Tea-leaf jar

Choosing this gift does NOT affect the quest, so you can pick whatever gift seems appropriate to you. This will end the Perfect Gift Main Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows and reward you with 1,000 XP. You will have to complete the Dress for Success Main Quest as well to progress forward.
