Assassin’s Creed Shadows: The Tea Ceremony Main Quest Walkthrough

The Tea Ceremony is an important Main Quest for Naoe’s path in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. You can finally track down the Golden Teppo.

Naoe’s hunt is almost over with the Tea Ceremony Quest of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This mission is part of the Golden Teppo quest line, where you will finally discover the true identity of the mysterious shooter.

You will have to learn the proper tea etiquette and acquire a kosode for Naoe before you can start this quest. Thankfully, both of them are not very hard to learn and obtain. Once done, you can take part in the Tea Ceremony Main Quest of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

How To Start the Tea Ceremony Main Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

You must complete the Perfect Gift and Dress for Success quests to unlock this mission. Once you have learned the proper tea etiquette, and acquired a kosode, you will be allowed to participate in the tea ceremony.

A short dialogue will take place between Naoe and Imai Sokyu. You can answer as you wish because it does not have any lasting effects on the story. In between, the conversation will be interrupted by the arrival of Akechi Mitsuhide (one of Lord Nobunaga’s generals), who informs Imai Sokyu about his future absence.

Finally, it is time to meet the guests of the tea ceremony.

Meet and Greet the Three Women

You must talk to all three women to continue this quest. The dialogue options here also do not matter much, outside of your immediate conversations. So, feel free to pick whichever option you want.

Lady Satoko will inform you about her hunting bandits with a teppo. Next up is Wakasa. She will have a positive reaction to the black kosode and a negative reaction to the red one. However, this does not matter in the long run.

Lastly, Otama will insult Naoe and ask you about your method of obtaining an invitation. You can retort back with ‘I know the son well’; however, this also does not have any lasting consequences.

Finally, the tea ceremony will begin, with Sokyu inviting everyone back inside.

The Tea Ceremony

Here are the correct actions to perform during the tea ceremony:

• Bow halfway
• Turn the bowl right twice

The above options will get you the best response from Sokyu, so it is preferred to go with those. After the above two steps, you will present the gift you selected in the Perfect Gift quest.

Should You Pick Otama or Wakasa in the Tea Ceremony Quest of Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

The finale you have been waiting for is here. You have narrowed your suspicion down to one of two ladies. But who is the right one? Otama or Wakasa?

Subsequently, the correct answer to this question is Wakasa, and picking her will let you jump into the next mission—Drive the Point Home. However, even if you pick wrong, the option to kill Wakasa still exists. The method will just be different as you will start the Defensive Position quest instead. However, you must chase Otama and kill her first to start the next quest.
