The new 1.0.7 title update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows brings many new changes to the game. One of the noteworthy additions is the New Game Plus mode. Players can now start a brand-new save while keeping the progression and gear from their previous playthrough. This was a much-requested feature from fans. Its inclusion in older installments meant it was only a matter of time before Ubisoft launched the feature for AC Shadows, and that time is finally here. Here are more details about it and how to use it.

How To Start New Game Plus in Assassin’s Creed Shadows Title Update 1.0.7

According to Ubisoft, players can start their New Game Plus journey in Assassin’s Creed Shadows as soon as they finish the main story mission. More specifically, this refers to the main campaign and not any side quests, optional objectives, collectibles, or protagonist-related missions. Previous entries in the series, such as AC Valhalla, also had this feature, and it works almost the same way.

Once you complete your playthrough, New Game Plus will be unlocked. After that, you can start a new save in the mode from the game’s main menu. In the New Game Plus save, you will retain your character level, collected gear, skill points, Knowledge Rank, and Hideout progression from your completed playthrough. However, other aspects, such as story progression, objective board progression, and discovered locations, will not carry over and will be entirely reset.

Additionally, players will be able to choose their starting point in New Game Plus. They can start the save from the very beginning of the main campaign and explore the events of the Tensho War in Iga once again, or they can skip the prologue entirely and begin their journey when Naoe gets her hideout.

As mentioned, you will have most of your gear and progression points already unlocked in New Game Plus. To make the new playthrough a bit more challenging, the developers have made the enemies slightly tougher in this mode.

The increase of the level cap from 60 to 80, and the Knowledge Point cap to 9 and 10, further enhances NG+ and gives players room to improve their characters while keeping the experience fresh. Furthermore, with the latest update, you can now upgrade the Forge up to level 4, allowing access to stronger weapon enhancements to even the playing field.

Finally, once you complete your first New Game Plus playthrough, you will receive new lucrative katanas as rewards, such as the Whisper of Gold and Dragon’s Gold, as souvenirs of your victory.
