The world of Avowed is massive, filled with secrets unknown to both you (the player) and the residents of the world itself. Curious about what the world holds, Sanza, one of the merchants in the game, has set out on an ambitious quest to map out the entire Living Lands. In his effort to do so, he sent out various cartographers across the game’s four major regions, but they have since gone radio silent.
Avowed’s Mapping The Living Lands quest sends you on a search for these lost cartographers. Now, while this may seem easy, you have to keep in mind that the Living Lands are massive, and these cartographers could be anywhere. The Living Lands Mission Walkthrough
Finding Sanza

You begin this quest by speaking to Sanza, who will then inform you of his ambitions and the cartographers. But first, you must find him. Spawn at the Claviger’s Landing beacon and make your way up north until you are directly to the east of Magran’s Assay. Walking in this direction, you will stumble across Sanza, who will have a quest marker floating above his head. Talk to him to begin the quest.
Finding the Cartographers

| Dawnshore Cartographer | After talking to Sanza, follow the main road beside him and continue straight until you reach Shantytown. Take a right before the town and cross the wooden bridge to reach the Ondra’s Reach crossroads. Take a right and continue down the road across the city perimeter until you reach the city gate. To your right, you will see large rocks with cyan chunks. Head to the rocks and explore the ruins behind them to find the cartographer’s body. |
| Emerald Stair Cartographer | Head to the Naku Tedek Party camp and take a right from the junction heading south. Continue down the road and drop down right before the dead end to find a cemetery. You will find the cartographer’s body here. |
| Shatterscarp Cartographer | Spawn at the Sand Sea Oasis beacon and take the road heading southwest and south of Twin Offerings Overlook. Head to the edge of the region, where you can see the sea, and work your way around the cliff until you see a section of the cliff extending onto the beach. You will find the cartographer’s body here. |
| Galawain’s Tusk Cartographer | The final cartographer is somewhere in the Ash Forest. Explore the forest until you’re directly east of the Ash Forest Outpost. Explore the area and you’ll find a camp with a “Notice to Fellow Wardens.” The note suggests a location near Solace. Head to Solace Keep and go northwest to find the Soreena’s Mercy tower. Enter the tower and go to the upper levels to find the cartographer in the jail cell. You can save the cartographer or let him rot in the jail cell, and you will get the final map regardless of what you choose. |
