Yes, Assassin’s Creed Shadows allows you to respec your Mastery skill tree, allowing you the freedom to experiment with your build.

The Assassin’s Creed franchise has increasingly prioritized player freedom over the past decade, starting with AC Unity. This freedom was then improved upon with expanded skill trees in the RPG trilogy, which have now carried over to Assassin’s Creed Shadows. 

AC Shadows allows you to build your playstyle and master it through a “Mastery” skill tree in the game. There are several abilities to pick from, all of which serve to enhance your assassinating capabilities. However, with so many skills to pick from, not every skill you pick may be suited to your playstyle. 

Sometimes you may just pick the wrong skill, or other times, you may want to spice things up by entirely changing your build and playstyle. What do you do then? Do you have to start a new game and make a build from scratch? Thankfully, you don’t have to do anything as drastic as Assassin’s Creed Shadows allows you to respec the Mastery skill tree. The game lets you do so free of cost, too, incentivizing players to experiment with builds without worry.

As stated earlier, Assassin’s Creed Shadows allows you to respec, ensuring that you always have full control over how your character plays. If you’ve messed up in your skill investments and wish to undo your mistakes or wish to refresh your build entirely, follow the steps given below: 

  • Open your in-game inventory and select the character you wish to respec. Both characters have different sets of skills, so make sure you have the correct one selected. 

  • Once the character is picked, pause and bring up the in-game menu. 

  • Cycle through the tabs and head over to the “Mastery” tab. This is the fourth tab from the left. 

  • Open the tab, and you will find the “Reset Masteries” option at the bottom of your screen. Press the assigned button prompt, and the game will ask you to confirm your decision. 

  • Confirm your decision to respec your Masteries in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
