Death Stranding 2 places a lot of significance on how human beings must work together to survive in the post-apocalyptic world. This is one of the many ways in which the game is similar to the first one. Sam will have to continuously run across vast stretches of land to deliver goods, medicine, and other valuable cargo for the various facilities. While doing so, Sam will have the opportunity to establish a bond with each of these facilities and the people inside.

Over time, you will be able to increase Facility Connection Levels in Death Stranding 2, which can turn out to be extremely profitable. In this guide, we’ll explore some ways to improve these connection levels.

Ways To Increase Facility Connection Levels in Death Stranding 2

Making deliveries to a specific facility will increase Sam’s connection level with that particular location. However, there are three major kinds of deliveries that you can make to any of the facilities.

Return Lost Cargo To Their Specific Facilities

As you move around in the world, you’ll often come across lost cargo that’s just strewn on the ground. You can use the Odradek Scanner to check which facility the cargo belongs to. In most cases, lost cargo will belong to a nearby facility. If you can spare some space and bring it back to that specific facility, you’ll earn Likes for your good deed. Over time, these Likes will accumulate and build your connection level with different facilities.

Complete Aid Requests

In some situations, a facility might have special Aid Requests. Sam can complete these requests to earn a considerable amount of Likes and increase his connection with the facility. Requests can include things such as fabricating a specific structure for the facility using the PCC. Or, you might need to fight and clear MULEs or BTs from the facility’s vicinity. To view any available Aid Requests, simply open the Ring Menu and check.

Fulfill Sub Orders

In some cases, a facility could have a Sub Order, which is a special order that Sam must deliver to the location. While these are rare, many facilities won’t let Sam increase Facility Connection Levels in Death Stranding 2 after a certain point without first completing the Sub Order.

Why Do You Need To Improve Facility Connection Levels?

Increasing Sam’s connection levels with the 42 facilities will ensure that you get access to new fabrication schematics and other valuable items. Some facilities will reward you with schematics for powerful weapons, which you can then craft and start using. Also, if you’re a completionist, you’ll need to maximize the connection levels with all 42 bases in the game to earn the Connecting Hearts and Minds trophy.
