Funcom has announced that the official release of Dune Awakening has been delayed. So, gamers will have to wait a little longer.
Developers Funcom have come out with a blog post stating that the long-awaited Dune: Awakening is going to release on a delayed date. This upcoming open-world survival RPG was on the radar of almost the entire gaming community, so this unfortunate announcement is a blow to many.
Additionally, Dune: Awakening now has the release date of June 10, 2025, instead of May 10. However, it is not all bad news because the developers have also stated that fans will get to enjoy a “Beta Weekend” next month.
Everything Related to Dune Awakening Delay and Beta Weekend
Funcom has recently announced that Dune: Awakening is going to release after a delay on June 10, 2025, on the game’s official Steam page. “The posts state that the players’ feedback during the closed beta test caused this unfortunate delay.” The post also adds that the feedback was invaluable to the developers, as well as the following quote:
“Thanks to this process, we’ve concluded that with a bit more time to cook, we can act on a lot more of the feedback we know is important to our beta testers,”
It also states:
“This is not a decision we take lightly, we know everyone is very excited to get playing, but these three extra weeks will give us the time needed to make improvements that will lead to a better gameplay experience from day one.”
In addition to that, Funcom has confirmed an upcoming “large-scale beta weekend” next month, which is May. We do not have a confirmed date for the beta yet. However, we do know that in this beta, players will be able to play the game and provide valuable feedback to the developers through the game’s official Discord server.
What To Expect From Dune: Awakening?
If you want to experience a sci-fi survival game, then you should definitely keep an eye out for Dune: Awakening’s beta weekend. It is an open-world survival RPG set in the fascinating world of Dune, created by Frank Herbert. In the game, players will journey across the harsh desert planet, Arrakis, to scavenge for resources so they can survive and possibly become a powerful and resourceful individual.
Lastly, as we discussed earlier, Dune: Awakening is officially releasing on June 10, 2025, for PC. However, the developers will reportedly release the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 Pro editions of the game later this year, so console players will have to wait a bit longer.
