How To Beat Merchant Tamao (Iron Hand Guild) in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Here is how to find and gather intel from the merchant Tamao, part of the Iron Hand Guild quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, there are a variety of side quests to play through, including the Iron Hand Guild. There are five distinct leaders and four merchants in this particular guild. Apart from Merchant Kanta, Ginroku, and Kin-No-Suke, there is Merchant Tamao. The hint provided on the objective board suggests that the merchant is situated in the region of Yamashiro and that he runs a brewery in Kyoto, which is to the west of Honpoji Temple.

In this article, we will explore how to locate and defeat Merchant Tamao in AC Shadows.

Tamao’s Movements in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Set a waypoint at the objective and fast-travel as close as you can to the destination. Once you reach Honpoji Temple, you will see a blue orb on your screen, indicating the exact location of the merchant.

Run around the area until you see three people gathered in a circle and overhear their conversation. Through their conversation, you learn that the boss/merchant has locked himself inside the warehouse, as he doesn’t want to be bothered by anyone.

Gather Intel From Merchant Tamao

If you now go to the objective tab, you are provided with another hint suggesting you create a loud or unusual disturbance to draw him out. Right in front of the merchant’s house, you will see a small shed with many earthen pots under it.

Approach these pots and slice through as many of them as you can. As you slice through them, the merchant shouts out warnings three times, mentioning how he doesn’t want to be disturbed, even for the Iron Hand. Keep slicing until the merchant finally opens his door. Approach the merchant and decide whether you want to kill him or spare his life.

After killing him, you will receive the Letter Regarding Kyoto. From this letter, you can decipher that the Iron Hand is somewhere in the Tamba Highlands.

After finishing the quest, you receive:

• Mon – x280
• Zashiki – Room
• Letter Regarding Kyoto
