Assassin’s Creed Shadows has a vast map with many points of interest and locations. In many of these locations, some people are targets you can assassinate for rewards. They are hidden at first, but you unravel their identities as you progress through the game. The Silver Smugglers is one of the groups you need to destroy by assassinating its members. They are smugglers who are trading in smuggled silver for teppo rifles, which they sell to local bandits. 

To put a stop to one of its members, here’s a guide to help you locate and beat the Teppo Merchant in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Location of The Teppo Merchant in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

You can find the Teppo Merchant in the southwestern corner of the Fukuchiyama Castle. Fukuchiyama is a city on the northern side of the Tamba region. The castle itself is in the southern section of the city. Here are the clues you can gather by defeating other members of the organization and completing side quests in the area: 

• He is in Tamba.
• He is in southern Fukuchiyama Castle.
• He sells teppo in a fort.

How To Beat The Teppo Merchant in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

To beat the Teppo Merchant, we recommend using Naoe, as her stealth can provide ample advantage even before starting the fight. Yasuke is not ideal in this situation due to the sheer amount of enemies patrolling the area. 

First, find a higher location nearby the target and perch on the edge of the roof. Use your observation to mark all the targets, which makes sure you don’t get spotted by some random guard from behind. There is a tower on the eastern side of the area where the target is; it is an ideal location to use observation. 

From the tower, jump down on one of the patrolling soldiers and finish him. Run to the right and climb on the roof of the building on the northwestern corner. This provides you with a clear view of the target from the back. Jump down from the roof and kill another soldier inspecting some goods. Now you can approach the merchant from the back and assassinate him. 

The Teppo Merchant has eight health chunks, so one-shot assassination is unlikely. However, starting the fight with a weakened enemy is quite an advantage. The Teppo Merchant uses a katana when engaged in close range and a teppo rifle if you engage him from afar. 

He does a three-slash combo with his sword that you can parry with perfect timing. He also does an unblockable attack, where he charges up his sword and slashes in front. Parry his attacks to leave him vulnerable and dish out damage during this time. Do not give him the opportunity to create distance, as his teppo rifle packs quite a punch. Keep attacking him, and soon you will defeat him.

You should also loot the chest right behind him to get the Shrouded Shinobi Robes, which is an epic light armor for Naoe.
